As winter has made its way in I took a trip to the mountains and found a lot of snow. I used the 4H and I kept hearing a weird vibrating sound coming from the front differential area. It would go away at time and come back again. I tested out the 4H system again this morning on dry road and I could not hear anything like I heard on the snow. I don’t get weird vibes or sounds at all while driving in 2WD. Is this somewhat normal? The truck is lifted only 1” and CV angles are pretty much unchanged from stock. I will try to get a video of the noise I am describing to give a better idea of what I’m referring to. I plan on taking it to the dealer however I’m not too sure how likely they are to help as they might point to that it’s lifted even though it’s only 1” and angles are pretty much the same they were stock.

    Thanks!

Could it just be the traction control. Since it only occurred in snow maybe the tires were slipping and the truck tried to conpensate.

Could be, as the sound now that you mention it sounds similar to the rear traction system when the truck starts to slide. I would assume it was the needle bearing I would get vibes while not using the 4x4 system so that’s why I think there’s something else at play here, and I was also wondering if any other users get weird sounds or vibes while driving in snow.

It could be. The needle bearing has caused vibes for ppl without lifts as well so that is always a possibility.
