Would it be a better option to buy a Hood Scoop and wheels, or trade in my truck for a pro?

I would hate to be a poser, but I am considering buying a hood scoop and pro wheels for my Tacoma, and the longer I modify it, the more I feel like I should have just got a Pro.

I realize the longer I have had it, that it might have made more sense to just buy the TRD Pro in the beginning rather than trying to turn my OR into a pro.

I found a manual cav blue TRD Pro for $41,666 and the current trade on my truck is $31k (via Carmax)

Anyone go form a OR to a Pro or vice versa and regret or happy with the decision?

The hood scoop for $10k plus won't pull anymore women out of Forever21 vs. $60 worth of drinks at your nearest Applebee's

    Does it really matter?

Sounds like you are just after the Pro name and not actual capability. Which you can build an OR into a Pro... and probably for cheaper.

If you can pay cash for your vehicles (which you should always do anyways) do what you want. If you are wealthy enough... who cares?

If not. Pay off what you have and then worry about moding it to look like a Pro.

I would keep the OR just because the TRD Pro decals and badges are ugly AF (and I want a long bed... they don't make Pros in a LB).

It’s a sad day when you go to Applebee’s... and buy $60 worth of drinks

If you have $10k to sink into it you can make your off road better than the pro.

Unless you can do an all cash switch I don't think that's a reason to buy a more expensive vehicle. I feel like that's something you should have thought about when you bought your first truck.

Its all about money right? Make the right money decision regardless of "wants". You could find a MT on an OR in an equivilent year you could do a trade over to for minimal cost. You don't need to buy a brand new Pro.

I like the OR. I'd never want to be a Pro. Again ugly AF and really have nothing special to add in addition to the OR.

Really? People on here seem to love it.

Then again, I always want what I don’t have and think what I don’t have is exponentially better than a currently have... which is normally never the case

Well said, now that I think about it more... I would rather sink that $10k into a WRX STI and have two vehicles... and a hefty property tax :anonymous:

A nice lift, wheels, tires, sliders, leather seat covers, maybe a bumper. If you need a hood scoop you can probably buy one, or there’s a thread on here somewhere that is for trading hoods. You may be able to throw someone some cash plus your hood to get one with a scoop.

Good point, I watched Apple lose $50 a share these last couple weeks.

I’m not feeling the investing thing at this moment

What I learned on the interwebs is that despite the claims that no one shops at Wal Mart and eats at Applebee's the parking lots are always full.

    Lol, that’s for sure.

Like have you heard all the negative feedback associated with buffets??

I live 5 mins from a Golden Corral and that sucker is packed every hour of the damn day.

You’ve got the right idea. I was tempted to buy a couple Bitcoins when it was at $6500... damn am I glad I didn’t.

I am thinking about pulling all my technology stocks and going with MJ like you said, I just haven’t done enough research to even know where to begin.

But you’re right, if you can grab a few MJ stocks before more states (or even the feds) legalize it, you’ll be sitting pretty on a few positive gains

if you're trying to decrease the financial impact of upgrading to a higher trim you probably shouldn't trade in your current truck but try to sell it privately instead

Let me put it this way...the only reason I bought a Pro is that it's for my 16 year old daughter to drive. #justsayin

My first gen shifts ok, but it's not nearly as nice a Honda or BMW. Maybe I'm just getting old, but i've driven manuals since I got my learners permit and decades later i'm tired. Maybe that's why I like my F150 company truck so much get in throw it in drive and go
