Sprint's 4G is so hit and miss it is not worth the extra $$ yet. Plus WiMax is a dead technology...

Blah blah blah most people do not know what they are talking about. Own all phones and use them in your every day life and then you can compare.

I have the Hero and it's a good phone. My only real complaint is that it can get bogged down-it really needs a faster processor.

I don't own the iPhone, never have. I have many friends that do have it and have honestly spent a lot of time comparing the two. They both have positives and negatives. I personally prefer Android phones because of the versatility and the fact that they don't make you feel like you are on a short leash with technology. I have a Nexus One with T-Mobile and it is my 3rd Android phone. I love the Android phones so most will say that my opinion is biased. Apple's demise will be that they have their technology in only one mobile product while Android has many. Rumor has it that T-Mobile will be getting a dual processor (800mhz-1Ghz a piece) by this Christmas and Sprint will be getting a 2Ghz, 10mp phone 1st part of next year. iPhone is more and more lagging behind.

And all Android OS phones that are capable of receiving Froyo 2.2 should be able to become a mobile hotspot. I already have it on my Nexus One and it is pretty sweet! Definite upgrade from 2.1.
