Don’t go diesel waste of money. Plus it’s only cool for a week...

My taco is bad and I get where your at... on a full tank I can get it about 240 miles and my combined is 15mpg...

That’s garbage... but it has a 6in lift and 35s... wish I could get it stock personally... I bought it like that though lol.

Mine is stock, but I haul shit and drive 80% city. I've been getting between 11-13 city and I usually get 14-15 highway because most of my highway driving is in the mountains.

The Cummins part is the only redeemable quality. I am very frightened of Mopar products in general.

Having had a ‘12 ford 5.0 and ‘13 Chevrolet I can say that the Ford was more fun to drive but something about the Chevy made me like it more.

That being said, the square wheel wells on the Silverado make fitting larger tires and offset wheels more of a pain in the ass than on the ford.

That probably throws your higher mileage ram out the window. I wouldn’t touch anything dodge without at least still having a remaining warranty.

How a vehicle looks is important to me. I wouldn't buy a vehicle I think is ugly (that's why I don't own a 3rd Gen).

It's tens of thousands of dollars that takes me years to earn. I don't think it's silly to really like what you drive.

My brother has the same year F150 as my tundra. We both have put 100k on them. He drives his to his office. I tow built rock crawlers or have a bed full of shit hauling ass across the country.

I have put a water pump in my truck. I work on his truck at least once a month, lots of stupid shit like all his window motors have failed at some point, multiple door latches, ujoints, rear pinion bearing, broken main rear leaf, multiple O2 sensors, etc. His truck might not be an example of a normal F150 but my son owns a Tundra as well and his has been solid as mine, so I would guess that mine isnt abnormal.

I do prefer the Ford styling though. If i could get a 5.9 cummins in a new ford it would be in my garage right now.

If I didn’t have a tacoma, the F150 with the 5.0 would be my choice.

Buy a Tundra, tune it up and bolt on a supercharger for a 600 whp highway monster.

I just traded in my 2011 Tacoma for a full size. Went with a 2018 Silverado Crew LT Z71. Drove it for four days, check engine light came on and its been at the dealership past five days :notsure:. Nice truck, just apparently chose one with some sensor gremlins, or at least thats what the dealer is indicating so far.

If you're goal is to get a truck that you like the looks of then get what you want. If your goal is to get a truck that will perform without issue for its life time get a Tundra. Yes they get crap gas milage but the money you save on not having to be in the shop all the time you can spend on fuel. As an auto detailer I have regular customers with ford, dodge and chevy trucks and it seems there's always something going on with them. I have almost 100k miles on my 2010 Tundra and it's been a flawless runner. Yes I cringe evertime I have to fuel up but I also laugh ever time I pass the dealership or a mechanic shop.

Did they say that with the same conviction with which they said to me that blowing an engine at 70K on a daily driver that's never been plowed with, had a trailer on, oil change every 3k, etc is normal?

All of them have gremlins at some point. Hell, my 2015 Pro has had 3 of those damn secondary air injection systems replaced. Only have 48k on my truck. Toyota covered it, and no other issues knock on wood. Just roll with it for a bit if you love the truck.

Edit: I’m not gonna lie, if it goes bad again I might sell the SOB. haha.

Yeah - I use similar logic. If I find I don't like the truck after the first year I'll trade up. If it doesn't pan out on the initial quality side there are lemon laws to protect ya against getting steamrolled. My preference was to keep the Tacoma but the rear facing child seats were driving me F'ing crazy.

I looked at the Ram and really liked it, but I owned a Dodge once and said never never never again. Yeah, yeah, Ram isn't Dodge, I've heard the argument. I view it as Dodge's inbred nephew now, those 2019's are likely to have some eTorque gremlins, lack of parts, and 12" goofy screens that get all glitchy.

As one of the original respondents said though, it's really just preference on the full-size trucks, can't really go too wrong.
