I think it only happened after they auto lock? I couldn’t duplicate it in my garage, then I went to Wegmams and forgot to test it on the way. Checking the manual now. And I think the “quick reference guide” has more pages than the entire manual that came with my 1988 Civic.

Nothing in the manual about it. Here was the scenario, drive to car wash, pull up to booth, inform attendant that I have an unlimited account, attendant has to put barcode in left rear window, go to unlock doors, doors don’t unlock. Scratch head, reach back and open door manually, look at attendant, say “it’s a new truck, it has auto locks like my last one, that unlocked when I put it in park, this is a manual, soooooo maybe I have to pull the Ebrake? Pull ebrake and try the switch, doors unlock.

So, the range on our old car was honestly about 4ft from the car. The chin trick worked well enough to double that range which was great in heavy rain.

The 30ft of the Taco is sheer joy. Our Forester with the same key is over twice that. Still, the chin trick works if needed.

Just a few posts back where I was saying the options, I told you the defaults as far as auto-locking and -unlocking! :)

The default from the factory state on manuals is:
    - all doors auto-lock once you start driving and get above 10-15mph
    - all doors will auto-unlock once you stop and open the driver's door (you should also be able to unlock at any time by using the button on the door)

You can disable those settings by using a Carista, TechStream, or ask your dealer nicely (or they might charge you).

Somewhere floating around is a PDF with that and the other options you can configure such as chimes, light timeouts, etc. Some can be configured through Entune settings (the radio), but many can only be done via the methods I mentioned above.

You may have, but I didn’t read the entire thread, you weren’t talking to me, and what you posted is incorrect. It’s neither in the manual, nor could I unlock the door with the button unless I pulled the e-brake.

You hold the fob up to your chin and hit the button. Your head acts as an antenna.

It will typically doubles the range.

So today I could unlock the doors while in gear like normal, why I couldn’t the other day? I dunno.

Is it normal when in 4lo and putting in gear the clutch feels not completely disengaged?

As in there is a slight lurch when putting in to gear, the feeling of the clutch still catching even with the pedal fully pressed?

Im guessing this is happening in 2wd too but just not as pronounced..

It might be. Usually for long conversations, I will use headphones though. It will be interesting to see what our modern life does to us down the road.

so i just tried playing with this....hand brake up, hand brake down, doors open, doors closed, auto-lock.......couldn't get it to duplicate what happened to you.

It just locked / unlocked with the fob as it should have haha

I did once auto-lock the keys inside right in the cupholder where I could see them. Didn't have the extra set on me so I had to call AAA to get in. Bought the hitch vault after that haha

I miss my 08. Only had power Windows and ABS (sometimes). My AC hadn't work for years. Only fixed it because the gf hates the heat.
