    Anytime in the summer. A good portion of the dunes including all the real fun stuff is closed in the winter for elk migration. I would just stay away on the big 3 day weekends as they usually lifeflight out a few people and you have to have a flag on your vehicle no matter the size of the vehicle. But great times. The offroad clubs usually go a few times a year as group.

    We got dumped on overnight! Lots of white traction decreasing agent all over the roads! And even the the temps are in 20's with no load on the engine, it is really hard to build any boost. LOL

    Ahhh yes. Had a little "rally" fun going home from work last night after midnight and then coming back into work this morning at 7. I like that I know have backroads to my new house. We built on the edge of town. Last house was right in the middle of town which made for not much option for "spirited" driving. On the closed courses of coarse.

    And as soon as I am done with my month end paperwork I am going to remove the s/c and do all the maintenance and adjustment mods, then go get the Camry to put the winter wheels and tires on it. Priorities.

    Quick question. I am putting the supercharger back together. The new coupler has 3 raised holes on each side. Do i put the shafts in the raised holes on each side or the level holes on each side. I am thinking raised. But not sure why.

    Also is this part of the reason for low boost and not the power I feel I should have compared to other suoercharged trucks I have driven. The impellers have contacted the housing. Or I have had sand go through the charger cause the housing has grooves in it.

    Put the raised hole side onto the shafts since they were beveled. Helped to line them up and get them started.

    Good call. Also, my housing had those grooves like yours does. I had read that this is normal at some point. I can assure you it’s working fine with my 2.0” pulley at 14-16psi, making good power and with minimal belt slip (now - was getting lots before I took steps to fix it)

    Although it will work either way, the proper method to ensure it sits nice and flush is to place the 3-prongs within each side into the raised holes.

    Thanks. Hopefully i had lots of belt slip also as I could only must a whopping 4lbs of boost with the 2.8. Had factory length belt. Noticed when I took it off that it was almost if not sitting on the stop. The idler was a long ways from the fan clutch. New belt and it is much closer to the fan clutch. In fact if I had gotten the Roush tensioner like I wanted it might touch. This belt almost is too short for the 2.8. I got the fleetrunner suggested on the first page. But it fits! But will have to be replaced again if I go 2.6. Might have to buy 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7. See how they all are. We will see later tonight if I picked up and boost.

    Thank you. After you did your maintenance and put the new coupler on did you s/c sound completely different. Mine sounds dry almost. I know i have 4 oz of oil in the nose and the bearing were packed quite well. Used almost the entire tube on the bearings. But it just sounds dry. But no more clatter when I turn it off. Oh and only 2 oz of oil out of it. And tried to put more than the 4 in but just ran out at about 3.75 oz. So started it and let it idle for about 2 minutes and tried to get more in, but it ran out again.

    Pretty sure I was able to get 5 oz or very close back in. And yes it is louder since the old coupler spring is no longer in there to take the shock out of the rotating components. It has a more consistent rattly sound. Which according to others after installing this fixed type of coupler is experiencing as well. I can say mine sounds much better than before that’s all I can say. With a roots a consistent medium tumbling rock sound is actually normal.
