depends on if the mrs is coming with me or not. If she is, then I won’t be camping cause she works in the morning. If she doesn’t come, then I’m camping. I’ll figure that out

I'm waiting on my wife's schedule for next week. She's not going, just need to figure out a way to get the doggos taken care of. If she opens I'll head out around noon. If she is closing it will probably have to be later in the day like 4-5. Sunday no matter what I'll have time to stay out there and wheel a bit until at least 11- noon hopefully later.

My AZT buddy is coming with. Ironically he's got a bum ankle too. Without him i wouldn't have been able to do passages 1 through 5.25 so easily since he drove my truck from point a to b while i hiked

This would be my choice! Bam! Down with any spot but would love to do some 4x4ing harder then dirt roads!

We could go over 4peaks and down the back to the 288, stop at the lake for lunch!

Id prob pass on that one saw a video from August lots of blow downs and nasty off camber center line ruts I'd imagine it's even worse after the October storms. And it's really far if you take in the up and over four peaks.

Looking like i can meet up as early as 11 on Saturday. I was thinking drive up set up(stake claim) on the campsite and explore up top a bit and then get up in the am and maybe hit Butcher Jones ohv on the way out Sunday. Little bit of something for everyone in there.

Well shoot, a buddy of mine just did it and said it was fun as hell and yes you are correct in your assumptions! Ha! Rutted out, fallen trees 12" boulders, inclines.....sounds like a good time to me!

11am!?? Good lord....thats late as hell for me bro! I'm up at 5am everyday no alarm! I know, there's something wrong with me.....o_O

Well damn if I aint a single dad with very little time who needs to make sure his weekends off are adventure filled buttholepuckering fun! That being said, I grew up in Butcher Jones, Phon D, End of the World, Second Cove. Bushnell Tanks, Four peaks. Punkin Center etc....ive been tearing those ruts up since 1994! Not really to "fun" for me...wah,wah.....I might sit this one out and catch you guys on another run!
I just found out that weekend will be my only free weekend this month so I need to make it count! Definitely trying to do more of a 4x4 trip then anything.

Be safe! Kick ass!! There will definitely be another time!

Oh I'll be up much earlier than that, I just have to get the dogs taken care of since my wife is working a split shift that day. Maybe the others want to make that run with you and then we can just meet up at camp? I have a Garmin I can text the location from anywhere.

    Sweet!

Ya know.... I was reminded that I haven't been out to the OHV's, Butcher jones area in Gloria yet or even this year! AAAAaaaaahhhhhh! So what the hell it will be like a new trip and with some cool new peeps! So I am game for just keeping it simple and meeting up for some wheeling out there! I'll hit you guys up toward the end of the week to confirm!

Make it a good one TW!

Hey y’all. New to the threads. I’d love to meet you all for camping and some off-roading but I’m also green to it and don’t have 4x4 Just checked out some video of 4 peaks and it looks pretty breezy. Did we figure out a meeting time?

4 peaks road slow and bumpy but definitely should be 0 problems for 2wd. Not sure about Butcher Jones. I would imagine there are routes you can run 2wd in with ease, but I have no idea what route we are going to go yet.

As far as time The earliest I can probably get out there is between 9:30-10AM at either the Rolls OHV staging area or Butcher Jones parking at the lake. We'd prob be up at camp around 2?

Welcome KennyChuck! 4peaks will definitely be ok for you. Butcher Jones has bypasses, but really depends on your tires. Tires will get you places a 2wd shouldn't be! ha! As long as you have some meaty tread, depending on where we go, you should be alright with good lines and a little "pedal." If you dont have at least AT tires Butcher jones might not be that easy for ya....that being said no better time to work on recovery!!!! BAM! Practice makes perfect!

    Happy birthday @BajaClimber

I'm going no matter what. Being stuck at home with a bum ankle during prime hiking season fucking blows. I still need my outdoors fix. Fire beer freeze dried mac and cheese ftw
