Well that’s cool as hell. Gonna do some research on it right now

Edit: was looking through their FAQ and didn’t see an answer. Do you need a subscription for it? I’d assume so.

Thanks! For good measure, I was contemplating removing mine, repainting whatever is necessary, and reinstalling them. But I think I'll wait maybe till spring or something

I’m glad I did but it was a big process. I fought to get bolts undone and cut others. I replaced all the hardware for reinstall.

It seems like it would be a good idea to do this every few years or so. Especially like in your situation living close to the ocean, driving on the beach, and (like in our case) driving on salted NE roads.

How did the brake lines install go? Also not sure if i missed it but what length tracks did you use for the side window mounts for the trax? That is a great idea for mounting them. Such a functional use of the space with still having the window use.

    Terrible :anonymous:

    3 broken bolts
    Broken hardline
    Stripped nut collar
    And 3 days...

Corrosion kicked my ass. And the penetrating lube I used obviously didn’t have time to penetrate before I sprayed everything and started working. It was just one thing after another that went wrong. I literally just walked away from it.. Returned a few days later and was able to get everything done.

Original cause of the brake debacle was a leaking wheel cylinder. Changed out both rears and drum pads and springs..

I tried looking back for my order but can’t find where I ordered from.. I cut them down a bit to window size so can give you actual measurement if you’d like? I’d guess they came 6’ long..

So a bit complicated of a senario but it worked!!

First off I never told my wife “let’s use the Virgina trip as a test, keep an eye out for me sending you messages”. So I’ve found when first messing with Somewear at home was if the recipient doesn’t have the messaging app they will get a direct text message from the sender of the actual message with it also saying to respond download app. So on the 3rd day of the 4 day trip I decided to send my wife a message. Unfortunately my wife has the app and she wasn’t expecting to receive anything.. After a while and really wanting to see if it worked as our camp had zero phone service I decided to text my buddies wife with the Somewear, she’ll get that initial message as a regular text and my message said to tell my wife to check the app! Shortly later we received some messages back. So it actually worked. The Somewear signal was really struggling tho, we were camped in a canyon with not much sky sight line with the tree coverage. Somewear suggests for best satellite signal have a direct sight to the sky without obstructions around you. @Wheelspinner suggested if I was to (in emergency) climb up the mountain to the top the signal would show stronger. Next time out with Somewear all the discrepancies will be fixed and should be smooth sailing.
