I've been searching with no luck about running 886 heavy coils with 90021 strut. I know its not recommended but trying to save some money by not having to buy the 90000 with the 886 coils. Right now i have the 887s , i'll be putting a sso slimeline bumper with winch on the truck.

I've got the same question! Did you get a satisfactory answer anywhere or what did you decide on? I'm worried about being stuck with an overly stiff ride for the commute, but have a low pro bumper and winch. Hope it whatever you decided worked out!

I replaced the whole front with 90000 strut with 886 plus .25 spacer plates to compensate for future sags. Ride was similar to 90021 and 887. Wish i shouldve gone that route first. Now looks like im going to have to add a leaf to my el095r leaf packs too.

Have 886 with 90021 shocks on the way. Should be delivered Monday. I also couldn't find anyone running this combo so I decided to be a guanine pig

When i called arb they said i would be better off with the 90000 with 886 because the 90021 would be too soft for the 886 plus any weight you might have. Other ops have said they were fine with 90021 and 886 so you ahouls be good.

I have read the same, and it is stated in the OME manual also, but I also heard that they designed it off the 2nd Gen Taco... believing that there really wasn't any major change going into the 3rd gen. I can understand that assumption, I would make the same. I know the diff between the two is that the 3rd gen comes about a inch higher from the factory than the 2nd gen did. But I think there may be a phenomenon here... I can tell ya the hood of my 3rd gen is way heavier than my 2nd gen was... I'd guess in general the 3rd gen has more weight than the 2nd over the front tires... Perhaps someone more educated than me can chime in on this.

Have about 200 miles on the 886/90021 combo. loving the way it rides and handles so far. I do ride a little nose high right now, but the bumper and winch isnt on it yet.

    enough to have fun
I've got a 2nd gen with the 886/90021 and DS lean spacer combo. I don't know if this helps, but i've got over 10k on this setup and love it. Previously I had the 886/90000 combo and It does feel "softer" from what I recall. Also my setup is with a steel front bumper and no sway bar.

Did you get your bumper on yet? Still loving the combo? I'm really leaning toward this option and when I get back home am going to drive over to @Toytec Lifts to discuss and price out.

The 886 has a lower spring rate than the factory coil. 886 are 660 lb factory 3rd gen OR coils are 700-710 lbs. On 886 /90001 bumper, winch, steel skids, sliders is only going to net you about 1.5” after they settle in. Case in point on my truck. Notice the ride height difference between mine and @Leman ’s truck.

There are some land cruiser 200 parts that I am looking at to remedy my front end sag and keep it all OME.

Not sure where you got the 700lbs from. Everything I’ve read has said 540lbs.

Truck looks great man! Sounds like the suspension combo is working out. I called Toytec and got a good price but they also quoted me a really good price on a Toytec Boss kit... decisions, decisions... I'm on the fence now.

Do you know what total lift you have now with the front bumper on? Is it steel or aluminum? I'm stuck between the 90000 or the 90021 with 886s

Hey guys, do we have any long term reviews on running the softer 90021 w/886 springs?
I have a front hidden steel bumper(Warn) + winch + Trd alum skids (140lbs) and want to keep my ride on the softer side.

    Cheers!
