Hello everyone! I was here previously years ago as JohnnyGato. I sold my '04 Tacoma, upgraded to a '12 4Runner and then recently sold that and got myself back into a 2018 4x4, 4 door Tacoma. I absolutely love it. I just bought it earlier this evening. Sorry for the weak pics. I'll take better ones in the daytime. Anyway, I'm looking to install a Toytec BOSS lift kit pretty soon.

I'm not quite sure how many mods I'll do as I'm pretty happy with the truck as is minus the lift and wheels. I guess we'll see over time.

Pretty sure you can do 285’s on stock wheels, just don’t personally know if you’ll rub with that boss lift.

 

Thanks! I did rub before with my 4Runner. See pic. I ended up having the front bottom corners shaved by a local shop. It looked great as they did a killer job. If I have to do that again, no worries. I'm just thinking of using the stock wheels so I don't have to buy new ones.

 

good thought for now, wheels are an expensive investment. For 2nd gens, BMC's are pretty easy, so 3rd gen BMC's shouldn't be an issue, even if you did it yourself. Most Tacoma related shops sell plates for you to weld on after your done cutting and grinding, no more having to make them yourself, unless you really wanted to.

 

OK, so my first mod is actually a small box frame I had one of my woodworking customers build for me. I pressure wash concrete and this was made to prevent my supplies and equipment from sliding around in the bed when driving. I'm aiming to do a lift and tires sometime after the Holidays.

 

And the Toytec BOSS lift kit has been ordered!

 

Did the kit come in yet or install?

 

The lift kit has arrived. I'm going to order wheels and tires soon. As soon as those arrive I'll schedule for everything to be installed.

 

It was recommended that I get UCA's as well. They were ordered this morning! (ICON Delta joint tubular)

 

Put the interior decals on today. I like them! Getting ready for the lift, tires and wheels to be installed early next week!

Finally! Toytec Boss 3" lift, Icon Delta Joint Tubular UCA's, 33" tires are BFG KO2 285/70/17's, Ray 10 17x8.5 wheels in gun metal. Also slapped the TRD plate frame and placed the Seven Sparta pop out lettering on the rear. I'll take better pics soon.
