Ok let me restate my question to be relevant to this forum:

what model year Tundra is this TB from so I can use google to determine the part number?

Hey everyone,

received some emails about the status of their kits, some of the tracking has not updated yet but everything was dropped off. I expect everyone's tracking should update by the end of the day today.


- Engine tear down is next weekend (delay on engine getting here). (and upcoming engine parts)

- More information about 1.05 next week regarding some more things we have developed

- More information about our new exhaust next week (if we hear back from fab shop)

 

AirAid makes a Throttle Body Spacer as well. I have it on my truck currently.

 

This is not a useless throttle body spacer.

This allows an actually bigger throttle body to be installed.

 

Anybody get an error from Windows Defender when downloading latest OVTune files?

A lot of people do think just this. However, isn’t that with a lot of things we do to our trucks. What one may think is useless, another may find not so much. I installed the AirAid throttle body spacer on my truck when I also installed my AirAid CAI. It was a very easy install, took me 30 minutes if that. I like the results it has given me as far as quicker take offs and some midrange power. It has also given me better gas mileage as well. I cant say how much but it works. It goes well with my AirAid CAI, OVTune 1.04R Tune, and DirtyDeeds Exhaust.

 

Personally I don’t think any Throttle Body Spacer is USELESS. I second @Ron1965 Since I have installed my Spacer on my truck, I have noticed more throttle response. Most importantly my truck has always ran smooth and I haven’t experienced any of the side effects others have with any of these tunes but for sure the truck has ran smoother. I also haven’t had any surge, stumble, etc that others have experienced with their trucks either. Even tho my VIN falls under all of the TSBs and I have been allowed to get each and everyone of them to-date, I have not had those side effects with my truck. This mod to me was an extra. If it helped then great. If it didn’t, then I was out what $100. Big whoop! To me, it’s helped.

 

Has the partial release of 1.05 been released already?

 

Only for M/T trucks with the dongle kit and running the latest TSB. We have been providing Mat with data logs and feedback for further development and refinement before the next release.

 

Ok. Awesome. I just remember Mat making a post that he is releasing “not the final version of 1.05” for all versions but I didn’t know if he did it and I missed it or not. So Thank You!

 

Anyone care to comment on the downshift behavior on OVTune? Specifically, when trying to come to a smooth stop? It seems like 3>2>1 has stronger than normal engine braking than i would expect. Engine braking is cool and all but not when I just want to come to a smooth stop. I'm not sure if this is related to DFCO or what. Does OVTune smooth this out at all? For the record I don't have OVTune, just trying to convince myself to pull the trigger.

 

I get a first gear clunk when I come to a stop. 1.04 tune. Don't remember having it when it was stock.

 

No clunk here on any downshifting....1.04 for 5k miles. Each truck is a unique beast

 

No downshift problems or clunks. 1.04. 91 for 3000mi
