Completed the "underprivileged neighborhood" (can't say get-toe anymore, not PC :spy:) version of the @BartMaster1234 (thanks for the idea) horn upgrade. Sounds great and I like the volume level running off the original wire size. With a few bends, I was able to re-use the donor vehicle brackets.

I know it is valuable space for many things, but not currently using it and I hated the idea of removing the grille, again...

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Have another question for this group of experts.

I'm collecting parts for my 4x conversion. I'm looking at possibly getting the Trail Gear single T-case crossmember. Here (if I go this route I'd be going with the All Pro 2 piece skid set to go with the TG crossmember/skid )

But now I'm looking at the BudBuilt 3 piece set Here

I plan on going with an All Pro Baja bumper. I know the mounting holes for the skids are different on All Pro. Will the BudBuilt skids be a pain in the ass with an All Pro bumper? And the cost of the skids are pretty close... but I'm pretty sure shipping from NC will be a lot higher than me just driving to Fresno to get the TG and All Pro skids.

    @foxrcing07 @FirstTimeFirstGen @Blackdawg ???

Not enough to have a build thread.
The shipping from budbuilt is pretty hefty. But their customer service has me sold. Ad far as pairing up budbuilts to an all pro bumper :notsure:

We could try with my skids if you get an AP bumper....

First time I did my leafs, I got my hand trapped between the rear shackle end and the frame. Don't ask how, but that fucking hurt lol. I use a long crow bar between the two usually but I like the 2x2 idea.

I have the Budbilt IFS skid and belly pan, 3/16th steel version...they work really well but are heavy AF. I don't run the belly pan anymore unless I know I'll need it on a specific trail. My IFS skid is bent up in a few spots but I haven't always been easy on it...3/16 will get bent and dented if you play on rocks

Yeah I was lucky I had my mechanics gloves on and could yank it out without tearing my skin.

I always ended up sore with bruises too working on replacing leafs...they're heavy, awkward and difficult to work into position on your own with the truck on jack stands. Lift would probably be a lot better

Yeah, I read your comparison. I still don't need or want Homelink and the external compass can't even be seen from the driver's seat. I'm happy with the 177.

I'd love to do those. But I'm trying to maximize the amount of things I can accomplish. The cost of the skids themselves is not bad at all, but I'm sure they would be crazy expensive to ship from WI.

They won't fit. The front lip on the all pro is much lower for mounting. Not worth your time.

Not sure I'd get the all pro bumper anyways

I'm looking at the All Pro becsuse of price, but also because of cost of shipping. It's one thing to pay 2-300 more for a different bumper... but the additional 1-200 shipping cost (on top of that) is a deal killer.

Dunno how much the All Pro is that you're looking at, but many places sell the ARB bumper for 1st gens and offer it with free shipping. Not the cheapest bumper most of the other 'cheaper' ones become really expensive when shipping is factored in.

The All Pro I'm looking at is between $650 and $700. And I can drive an hour and a half to pick it up.

Not a fan, at all, of the ARB bumper.

I really like the ARB on 1st gens but it looks downright awful on 3rd gens ...sort of undecided on 2nd. But different strokes for different folks I guess lol. Its definitely more utilitarian looking and not so sleek as some other designs but that's why I think it looks good on 1st gens.

My sister got a highlander, so the 99 is now retired to a hunting truck, dog box mod is now pretty permanent.

And this is definitely one of The cons you need to consider when getting ditch lights
