    Hey all,

My name is Jack. I thought I'd make the first post and introduce myself. I haven't owned a truck since 1999 when I drove a Dodge Dakota with extended cab while I was living in Michigan.

I just recently bought a 2018 Tacoma SR5 4x2 in Quicksand. I needed a commuter for work, something I could haul wood in, take on camping trips, and could easily fit the family. I really wanted the 3rd gen because I liked the nostalgia it brought back from my Dakota days, and it was such a beautiful model. I mean, the ease of maintenance and the mods.... I'm preaching to the choir.

So, I didn't get the 4x4 or Off-road package. Do I regret this... maybe the 4x4. I just don't live in a climate that snows and I have never done offroading. But, I am addicted to the idea of overlanding. I am already planning a trip for the summer across the U.S. With that said. I know

I'm going to be lurking in the forums for info on:
    1) Suspension with the added weight of the diamondback cover, a tent rack, and gear
    2) Mods for lighting and mods for dual battery
    3) Pully systems for the Tent and rack assembly
    4) Tire upgrade and added sliders

I'm sure it's just the beginning.I look forward to nerding out on my Taco with and participating in the community!

    -Jack

Nice truck man, that's the exact year and package I have and I love it. Good luck with the mods, I just made my first lengthy camping/road trip in mine and it was awesome. Here's the direction I went with mine as far as looks

    Awesome build. I dig it!

I saw you ordered the suspension kit in a previous post. What lift/tire/wheel package did you go with? I'm looking into options. I'm stoked to do some overland and ground camping soon!

I ordered the Diamondback S/E yesterday. My fiance and my two kids, who are out for the summer, are planning a 24-day road trip from California to Maryland (Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mt. Zion, Rushmore, Colorado). I would love to get off the beaten path when we go.

I got pro comp 32 series rims 8x16 and 265/75/16 Toyo open country at2 tires. I recently ordered my lift kit from @HeadStrong Off-Road and it consists of OME nitrocharger soft ride shocks, OME 887 coils, and a Deaver add-a-leaf for the rear. I'm hoping to get 2.5" in the front and 2"in the rear or close to that.

Will you be able to use the stock length rear shocks in the back?
