So I will start from the beginning here. So about a month ago I took my truck in to the shop to get my valves adjusted when I picked it up the tech told me that when he had everything apart that he cleaned my throttle body and my intake since it was off, But after he cleaned the throttle it didn't not want to close all the way. So he suggested to me that I replace my hole throttle body due to just being worn out. So I this last weekend I installed one that I purchased from a guy that installed a SC and didn't nee it anymore, Now that I have installed it, it idles at about 1.5. I have checked for vacuum leaks and air leaks and I am finding nothing. Can anyone help me out on this? My motor is a 3.4l 5ve-fe.

    Thanks

does it idle at 1500 RPM at all times ? Or, 1500 when the engine is cold, then drops down to normal when at operating temp ?

It idles about normal when cold then when it warms up it raises to 1500rpms

sometimes the throttle bodies will get stuck a little open due to "build up" on the inside. I'm not saying this is the problem, but i used a 3 part tb cleaner. in one of the steps i used a swab (which looks like a huge cue tip) and after i cleaned it all up some gunk was left around the hinges on the inside of the tb. all im suggesting is to make sure everything is nice and clean in the tb

The 5VZ injectors changed with the 1999 model year. I don't know whether this resulted in any change in the throttle body (or EFI or timing specs) that might explain the situation.

Hey guys thanks for all the help. It ended up being the IAC sensor, I just swapped with the one off of my old throttle body. Its all good now.
