I would just hose them down first and see if it still persists. With my Dakars it would make horrible sounds in the winter with all the salt, sand and crap on the roads. One hit of a power washer and it would be fine. My leafs were custom packed with prothane super grease and each leaf was resprayed with a dry film lubricant before installing so I'm a bit ahead of the game...

OZ has a thread somewhere about it. Where the second leaf curves up around, it rubs. That's where the squeaking comes from. If you put a piece of plastic between it and the top leaf, it will solve it.

I never actually had Dakars, but I had General leafs with the exact same issue. I used a plastic file folder that I cut up and folded to hold it in place--worked great and seemed to hold up fine.

EDIT: Here's his post explaining it: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...rs-with-the-dakars.156353/page-3#post-3564357

Yeah, I have the 3rd release of packs, so it's the second fix with the anti friction pads in them. They get washed every week so I'm not sure it's the road salt. The only thing I wonder is if I should just pack the heck out of the bushings with red and tacky even more. I've just been hitting the exterior of the packs with litium grease ...spray for a bandaid fix.

Ive had squeeks in my trucks before. It's starting to get to the point where I look down and wonder if everything is ok. I'll check inside the shackles for scoring and make sure the bushings aren't rolling out when I pull them

I've been wanting 1 ever since I got back from Rausch Creek in July. I'm tired of packing and unpacking every time I go somewhere.
