throttle by wire and MT? no thanks. My motorcycle is throttle by wire and I was able to get a tuner to adjust it to close to a 1-1 ratio that made light throttle clutch work much better. If no tuner I would of got rid of the bike or the fuel injection. Can you even get a SR5 access cab with a MT? When I was looking it seemed you had to get the sport package to get the MT?

Throttle by wire has been in the Tacoma since around 2003, the SR had a Manual till this year when it was discontinued, Sport, Off Road, and Pro have it.

And a much smaller supply. I have never seen anyone complain they couldn't sell their MT Tacoma. Only people complaining they can't find one.

The worst part is these trucks don’t have an aftermarket for performance. A cold air intake and MBRP exhaust is about as far as it goes.

I had an old 2JZ-GE with W55 manual transmission. I couldn’t wait to swap it for a 2JZ-GTE till figured out the W55 couldn’t even handle 300hp, and that if I would have got the auto I would have been good for 500+.

If you are out to win races an AT is the way to go, no question. I'm just out to enjoy life and daily driving is part of life.

I didn't choose a manual because I wanted to win races, these are not race trucks anyway. I prefer the manual transmission for reliability and do not race from stop light to stop light

I think the point is belabored, but MT is 100% the way to go.

a clutch can last well over 100,000 miles no problem just got to keep your foot off of it when you're not changing gears and drive it right. Have had 3 that lasted well over 100,000 and even then I never replace them and sold the vehicle to buy a new one before it even started to have any sign of clutch fade

Clutches are definitely durable, I can honestly remember only changing 1 in all my vehicles in my life which was an 80 Scirocco S.

Exactly, it will be my kid's truck before its anyone else's. And then they get to be the 1 percent that still knows how to drive one when they're all but forgotten.

Throttle by wire is fine. Time to learn to drive newer cars.

But then the seller can charge more, knowing he has something someone wants that isn't readily available
