Why do fumoto valves drain so freaking slow

    I think that hose connector just screws in, you can remove it. I have that in the 350 Chevy in my jet boat and I can run the hose out the bilge drain into the oil container. You may want to run a short piece of hose into your container and keep it clean and easy.

    I'm sticking with the oem drain plug. Fumoto seems like a waste and if it threads in more than flush inside, you aren't getting all the old oil out anyway. Plus I don't want anything hanging down under my truck. Is it really that big of a deal for you manboys to get a little oil on your hands?

    the main reason I didn't get one, also the threaded piece inside the oil pan has a higher lip than the OEM plug and never really completely gets all the sediments out,

    I got it just for the simplicity of it, flip a switch and oil is drained. No tools, no mess. But i do have to say it takes just as long to drain the oil as it does to drain the oil with a normal plug and clean up the mess.

    Its a big help if you have a skid plate. I could get my fingers up in there through the opening easily but when you pull the plug I dont want oil splashing on top of the skid. Trying to avoid a frog pond of oil

    maybe u can send it back for a refund, it will take 1/2 day to change the oil they are so slow

    You're not getting all of the oil out even removing the plug. Oh, and you have all kinds of things hanging under the truck, brake lines, Wheel sensor wires etc...

    Why make a mess in an oil drain pan ( that I will have to clean afterwards) when I can drain it directly into a jug to drop off at the recycler station.

    Smarter, not harder.

    That is why you warm it up first to get everything mostly suspended in the oil.

    Do you really think you are draining everything out of the engine by removing the plug?

    There is lots of other places in the engine where oil can puddle and get trapped. As far as sediments are concerned, if its metal you've got problems. If its sludge then you're either using cheap oil or not changing it enough

    FWIW, the 4.0 takes 5.5qts of oil, so buy 6qts a change.When the oil is just a slow drip I pour .5qts in the looses up everything stuck everywhere. When that is done draining, then I replace my plug and fill with New oil.

    painted engine cover, bed cover, color match door handles, window tint, seat covers, weather gaurd floor mats, TRD stainless steel cat back exhaust, front skid pan, bug deflector, custom holster mount in center console, OME 884X springs and shocks, 2" AAL, OME shocks
    what I do is........drive home from work
    when I get home I open the fumoto valve, take off the filter and let the oil drain over night
    The next day I close the valve, put a new filter on, put oil in the engine........easy peasy

    I normally leave truck overnight and open the valve the next morning, take off the filter and filler cap, go eat breakfast, once I’m done breakfast, close fumoto valve, put on new oil filter and add new oil. No tools, no mess, not wasted time.

    Getting dirty is not a problem. It's the small access port on the RCI skid plate that is. You can cross hatch the tip so the oil can drain but the thread will mostly be intact.
