Drilled the holes then removed the plastic bed caps. That way I could get the rivet nuts in the metal. Takes a special tool to install. Can get a good one for about $65 or a cheap one for $20. Once installed replaced the plastic caps.
Did this on my old truck also. Then if ever sale just replace the plastic caps and you cant tell it was ever done.

Ogden.... Before we moved to Boulder, Co that’s where we were. Lots of great little, safe neighborhoods with realistic home prices. We moved from slc.
Close to slc, pc, and it’s a cool mellow scene.
For reference, we sold our 2500 sq ft home, 1/4 acre and views to the top of Mt. Ogden (top of Snowbasin) for 200k four years ago.
We moved to Boulder, and holy crap were we shocked. Same style and size home here is 800+k. But, riding here is awesome, and close. At least a dozen areas within 45 min. Many hundreds of miles of riding, and all kinds. Plus, there’s a bunch a bike parks in the summer.
Utah has access to some of the best skiing in the world, and best conditions bar none. Colorado, it’s mtb access and quality that impresses. I’ll never ride all the good stuff here in my lifetime, just crazy amounts.

    Oh, and new bike day!!!

New bike day is the best day! Also very jelly of your location. I've wanted to ride in Colorado really bad! Fruita looks epic, like a version of moab...

I visited Missoula a few years ago and it reminded me of Boulder 20 years ago, before it was Californiacated.

If the economy were more Boulder-like, I'd move there in 2 seconds. It gets me thinking remote work might not be a bad idea.

Ah it takes a little effort but i have had it in the back of the taco. I have road just about every style bike out there and i wont be without my street glide as long as im riding. I can dress it up for 2 up (me and the wife) and strip it down for just me in a matter of minutes.

Anyone w/ the OEM tonneau cover have issues fitting a bike over the tailgate when it's rolled up?

Well... I did a thing! I wasn't COMPLETELY sure about it until today's first ride, but I went and bought a FS bike when YT did their Blvck Friday sale and when it showed up... holy shit, I was blown away. It's SO BIG (queue the "that's what she said" call (size comparison at the bottom)). After today's maiden trail ride, I'm super pumped!

Not pictured, my wife's (now) bike which fits her pretty well (below:left)

Switched bed rail and mounts to my 2019, but yet to use it with winter here.

Just curious what the TW recommendations are for a good winter tire for my Santa Cruz Tallboy 29-er. Now winter here means a little mud, lots of good tacky soil, but also slippery roots. Rode on wet trails (24 hrs after rain) for the first time today since March/April and was surprised how slick the roots were, constantly kicking the front and/or rear sideways. Currently running a Minion DHF front and Nobby Nic rear ... could the rubber have just hardened that much over the summer? Seemed slicker than I remember last winter, but maybe I just need a few rides to adapt after our typical dry summer. These were my local trails, so nothing I’ve not ridden before. No snow/ice, not too many leaves, and if it’s real boggy I go somewhere else or wait for it to dry (I do lots of trail maintenance so I know the drill).

If I didn't work in Midvale/Sandy, I'd consider Ogden, but that's a hell of a drive, plus with SLC only getting bigger...just gonna get worse.

I think today is unofficial Fat Bike Day in Boulder. 2 inches of snow overnight and they are EVERYWHERE.

I rode my fat bike to work today. SLC got quite a bit of snow in the valley over the weekend.
