I can help you get it on the GMRS channel, pretty simple to do.

    Or just watch this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlxK80QUYpk

And Download and print this off and keep it in your truck for reference - http://missionspec.com/oe/MissionSpec-GMRS-FRS-CheatSheet02.pdf

I am bringing firewood as well, not a lot, just enough to fill the front little bit of the bed of my truck, still have to put my camping boxes and such in the bed.
Ummmm I thought you were an Overlander???

I am planning on getting there a tad bit after 9am on Friday depending on how traffic and so forth is on the way for me. Planning to leave Tyler way to early for me because I am dedicated...

Maybe, I usually come up 71 through Spicewood...I'll check with my buddy and see if he wants to drive up 1431 the whole way. That'd be more scenic, and I've always wanted to stop at JJ's. I'll let you know!

    I haven't but let's say... PL Tone CTCSS 4?

So GMRS 16 with PL Tone 4
So... Freq 462.550 with 77.0 as the PL Tones

Overlanders don't complain about packing up their tent every morning... it is about the journey... not the destination.

Better be you this weekend, because I need to know all there is about RTTs before I get mine.

Saved that for. My radio actually does the gmrs channel in very small text. You can get some practice with setup and breakdown of my RTT. I really wanted too pull it off the truck and use a ground tent for this trip but I haven't bought a new ground tent yet.
I need to tune my CB as well.

    HF this weekend folks :goingcrazy:

Say a quick prayer to the god of 4lo that we have a safe trip and tires grab, only those with cages roll over and axles remain unbroken. Let our 2WD brothers and sisters be filled with the send it spirit. Oh and let Midnight Run be open :fingerscrossed:

    amen
