Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Even tho I've had several problems with mine, I guess it's still a good day to own a Toyota/Tacoma.

IT IS DFCO related,the more responsive throttle from the tune makes it more pronounced (a necessary trad off) AND every body has it,there just not noticing it yet.the lower the gears the more pronounced it is,MT or AT.
Your driving along and traffic slows to say 20km your in DFCO mode so your engine is off and all drive line slack is in opposet direction,putting resistance on the engine.now just touch the throttle and this will wind up all the slack in opposet direction and there’s your jolt.do a double tap of the throttle witch may be nessesary at times and there’s your double Jult and maybe some bucking.
DFCO can be adjusted,it can only removed.
There was talk of removing this feature early in the development of this tune but as of now I am not sure if it is still possible or just pushed back.

DFCO definitely needs some adjustments if possible. I could do without rev hang as well, or at least dial it back.

 

Anybody noticing 1-3mpgs less with 1.04r? Seems like 1.04 got way better avg mileage. I went from 17.5 to 15.5.

could you be noticing the effects of winter gas?

 

Is that the order in which the tunes will be released? For example: guys with a stock vehicle will get it first, followed by guys with mild mods, etc? Or will it be all at once and we will be able to download whichever file we want using the flash manager?

 

Unless I get a lot of highway miles which I get 18-19 mpg I average about 15 mpg. I lean on the skinny pedal around town to avoid the stupid.

 

I have as well, but figured it was a combination of colder weather (longer idle time) and winter gas mix.

 

Our gas is the same year round where I live

 

Morning gas is the best where i live.

 

We finally have the perfect use for this emoji...

 

anybody have the stock TSB update 04b04 (AT and dongle) tune file they can send me? i want to go back to stock from 1.04R for a bit.

 

All tune files have to go through @OVTune. He didn't send you your stock file?

 

Looks like some guys offloaded their Tacoma’s a little early. Might feel differently now.

 

fact. standing by for the guy who bought a third gen tacoma and dumped it after 500 miles, bought some other terrible things then comes back with a 1.05 tacoma.
