Well after I got my TRD Pro grille install, waited about 2 weeks and everything works perfect now, Now I have a New Garnish radiator sensor I got that is not needed and would like to sell it to someone who might need one to use on their new grill. Paid 59 bucks it and will sell it for the $55 bucks and ship it to the lower 48 states. Hit me up if anyone of you need this. It's brand new and never use , Thank you

This is the part that we need to install when we upgrade to the TRD Pro grill correct? I’ll take it if it is! Pmd

It is, if I didn't have one on order I would have taken it too.

Sweet! If I buy any TRD Pro grill this will attach to it with no extra hardware needed?

Yes. Holds up with a couple screws and a bit of glue on some tabs. Simple install. Several YouTube vids out there showing install process.

Also, don’t spend hundreds on an oem pro grill. Get the eBay one. Same look, same material. Much cheaper

Hel yeah looks great! Is this the kit that you are running? Any issues with quality or tabs not lining up properly?

No issues at all. Tabs aligned perfectly. Unplugged and removed sensor, Replaced grill, attached sensor to back of cover, replugged sensor, secured wiring harness with oem clips and a couple zip ties. Sensor works just as before, no issues.

Good job. Save money. Lots of people on here won’t bother buying non oem/non branded parts, but in the case of the grill and cover, these serve no function other than aesthetics, and it’s really hard to tell the difference between a $79 eBay grill and $200-$400 oem/name brand grill. My $80 eBay grill was just a big hunk of cool looking plastic just like the oem one my Toyota dealer was trying to sell for $400.

Just curious, have you had a chance to compare both, OEM and the Chinese one side to side? Not that I am too concerned just curious whether the quality is on par.

I haven’t see them side by side, but saw the oem one on display at the Toyota dealer. Oem seems we’ll built and maybe a tad bit sturdier and maybe more shiny. But I’m fishing for differences here. One would really have to closely inspect the two side by side to find any significant differences. The eBay grill suits my needs. It’s not like it’s made of styrofoam. The differences certainly do not justify the $300 oem markup.

Is the garnish cover necessary? Just ordered the grill and was going to wait and see if it’s necessary, but may just go ahead and order if it’s needed. I have a 2018 with tech package. Thanks.

From what I understand, a cover, not necessarily that garnish, is necessary. Something with reflective properties should cover the tss module so that it works properly. You could rig up something but the garnish makes it easier and you have to pay $50 for that convenience I guess.

Thanks. I’m going to install it as is and add it later if needed. Finding most don’t need it.

I’ve heard others say elements, water mostly, screwing with the tss module. This can happen as the sensor would be exposed without a cover

My oem one was blocked the other day from icy snow so I’ll just see how it goes.

Word. Wasn’t trying to skirt any rules. Just pointed out a better price on a discussed product. If this is not allowed, it can be deleted.
