    If you'll be on 93 the whole time, you'll pass directly through Caliente! If you'd like a more scenic route, take Rainbow Canyon at the end of town across from the LDS church. It is 22 miles long and you end up in Elgin. The road turn into a dirt road called Kane Springs Rd. It is a dirt road but I do 70mph on it, it's very nice. This dirt road is 38 miles long and puts you right back on 93 south of Alamo! It shaves about 30-45 minutes depending on how you drive!
