once again I run into a fucking problem. my rotor to hub bolts make contact with my spindle studs....so the whole assembly wont rotate at all like it's supposed to. I am seriously on the verge of giving up on this whole project....I just cant seem to catch a break anymore...

alrighty, I was not about to be stopped by stud problems. took my grinder to all the studs on each side and did a quick paint on the tips to prevent rust with VHT flat black and everything now spins freely and does not make contact anymore. I think the new studs are more designed for IFS hubs and locking hubs with vented IFS rotors.

now I just need to clean up my locking hubs and put em together and they are good for install

so question for you guys....should I just run with the trimmed studs even though everything clears and theres an issue I haven't figured out....or just get new bolts and replace the studs with factory bolts. I bought new spindle bolts and lock washers for the front. but I may use them on the back. i also got marlin crawler eliminators to replace the low range ones just in case of that was what the issue was

fuck yes! my new 1/16-27 NPT tap came in today, got to FINALLY finish tapping the oil jet out. plug sits nice and just under flush. red loctite and that PITA is done lol. man I used so much cutting fluid and I did end up using my 3/8 ratchet to assist, but I did 1/8th to 1/4 turns and backed it out till it free spun and went again. took me like 45 min almost, but done...

    lmao haha

I really fucking hate how it's a not so common tap thread too....nobody carried it in stock anywhere lol. 1/16-27 NPT tap...lovely

oh ALSO, I called LROR today and the guy there said its ok to trim the studs and my eliminators were expected to make contact with my rotors.

Lastly, Offroad Solutions said my custom harness should be done and shipped by Wednesday!

lmao, I found out today that I did need to replace my connecting rod bolts. didnt realize they are stretch bolts and one actually snapped. was plasti gauging the rods to check clearances and half of the nuts wouldnt torque down. oh well....at this point it's just a set backapalooza, so oh well haha.

gonna go to Toyota tomorrow and pick up some new OEM ones with new nuts, just need to figure out how to remove the old bolts

Can't you just use vise grips and back ' em out?

Soak them in penetrating oil first than I would use vise grips or possibly tack something perpendicular to it so you have leverage

Do the double nut method. Look it up. You can use that to install the new studs.

I really dont know to be honest, it doesnt look like the bolt spins where it's in, looks more like a "press fit" almost
