I know right? Have you noticed that actual problems being reported here have slowed down considerably? No real data except I glance at most thread titles every day and that stuck out. Lots more nonsense and good threads now. A year ago it was dominated by gloom and doom.

I guess the truck either got better or those posters got banned for stupid posts.

Maybe the guys who moved up to a Tacoma from a civic finally acclimatized.

Also, the engine and auto transmission have proven extremely reliable, despite people’s issue with tuning choices by Toyota, so that has shut up a certain segment who tried to paint it as equipment failure.

I'm sure there have been engine and transmission failures at close to a million trucks now but dang, you would think they would post about it somewhere. So far I know of exactly one engine failure (dust) and a handful of transmission failures for a variety of reasons.
I asked our local service manager about this not too long ago and he hadn't heard of any either.

Those numbers are pretty crazy. Always thought frontier was selling but it's not even a fraction of the Tacoma. I'd bet colorado's are doing okay, somewhere way above frontier and way below tacoma.

They have to be doing something right as they continue selling around 20K a month.

The only other one I remember on here was believe it or not the 4 cylinder, the guy had a red access cab and it shit the bed sometime before 1000 miles.

Nice, Tacoma the best selling midsize truck and the best resale value of any truck.

On another note, the Ridgeline car sales are down 7%

I believe as of this year, the Ranger has finally beat the Hilux in nearly all key markets. Toyota needs to bring out the TGNA trucks as soon as possible.

The Hilux, the Tundra, the 4Runner and the Landcruiser, which I believe will all use the new TNGA truck platform in their next generation, are seriously outdated. Even the Tacoma 3rd gen is outdated.

Next year, The Ranger is going to knock-down Tokyo Buildings like Snoop dogg did to New York.

Honestly, I feel the three tuning TSBs cured the biggest problems. The rest seem to be worked out in production or are really low percentage. It sucks if it is your truck, but the basis is nil.

Corporate should have the dealers calling folks in to get the TSBs applied or just launch a Service Campaign. They'd get nothing but good will out of it. They should at least tell the dealers to deny no one that is asking for them. MTs included.

    Plus one hydrolock.

Nice thought, but Ford phoned this one in. The numbers should be good, but with segment growth, I bet the cream is still gonna be on top.

Interested to see F150 sales growth after Ranger is introduced.
My opinion is that is the big customer base. Left pocket right pocket.

That also. The full size are just too big.

It's not like Ford will mind since the Ranger will cost a bit less to produce also. They'd only sweat it if the sales dip lost them the top spot.

Stock suspension, stock wheels, stock bumper, stock, stock, stock, dammit!
There are tons of tacomas in my area, all gens, which might be why people are buying them now. They last, regardless of the quirks and kinks of any one gen or year, and I think people who are first time buyers have figured that out. Third gen Tacomas look really nice and they look and feel more like a mid sized truck than a mini truck now as well.

I am expecting the Ranger to leapfrog right past the Colorado and sit comfortably in the number 2 spot behind the Tacoma.
