I didn't mean traction control, but VSC works hand in hand. What Im telling you is VSC cuts off throttle when it thinks there is a chance of rolling the vehicle, or losing control of the vehicle. If you lifted your truck it won't work as intended due to the different angles suspension of the truck. It has to be recalibrated.

Every time you start the truck you hold the traction control button for 5 seconds at a stop, and then hit ect?
That's a pain....
Trust me get your shit calibrated and it won't cut your throttle on hasty left turns or u-turns.

 

I don't own the auto and I've had it happen. That's why I don't think it was gear hunting, it was fighting with VSC throttle cuttoff.

 

Once again -- you have what experience with a Gen 3? I notice you do not state you own one. Your opinion is questionable --based on heresay!

 

I hope it helps you out, the TSB isn't that significant but it does help, and I came from the horrendous 04b10 ECU calibration.

Doesn't matter how long you have turning wrenches this new saftey shit isn't wrench related. I'm like you I've been turning wrenches for quite some time now, when it happened to me the 1st time I was like, wtf my 06 didn't do this.... Went on the forums got the VSC explanation, come to find out 2006 didn't have VSC, which is why I never experienced it.

 

Anything is possible sir..... I'm not saying your wrong about the gear changes.... I'm just leaning on the VSC calibration not being done after your lift, these trucks aren't like the old days, there are a lot of sensors keeping us from driving the way we want to.
I don't havs TSS or Auto and it affected my 16. Hopefully you figure it out, like it did, and you can keep you and your family safe.

To turn of traction control up to speeds of 25mph (I think, could be 30mph) just tap the traction control button on overhead.
To turn off traction control and vsc hold that same button at a stop for 5 seconds. You will see the light come on.
