I purchased new Denso O2 sensors for my ‘99 prerunner extra cab. I ordered NP 234-4162 for the upstream, and NP 234-4153 for the down stream. The upstream is correct, the lead is just slightly longer on the new one. However, on the downstream the new lead is about 6” or so shorter than the old sensor. Did I order the incorrect downstream sensor? I got the PNs by cross referenced numbers on the Denso site. I can make the downstream work, but would rather return it for the correct one.

The wire length should be identical to the original. It’s possible you may have gotten a sensor for a Cali emissions or not cali emissions (I don’t know what it
You have) if you have 2 cats it is cali. 1 cat is federal

What do you mean by "cali"?
California emissions? That can't possibly be right for 2 cats. I'm almost certain I have 2 cats and I'm no where near cali.

I’m pretty sure 99 had the option for dual cats or single. The emission label under he hood would say.

And I forgot but the manual sensor is different from the automatic
Chances are if the sensor you have reached the plug in though it would likely work

Oh you have an 02. All the trucks from 2001 I believe are 50 state spec

if you have extended cab, the good downstream sensor is 234-4189, but for some weird reason, it sometimes does not show up in searches as a compatible part...

The sensors are the same, the only difference is the wires lenght. You could cut and splice the new sensor to your old wiring and it will work no problem (that's what I did on mine)

Thanks for that! I’ll see if I can find that part number on rockauto. Worst comes to worst, I’ll use the sensor I purchased and extend the wires slightly.
