Has anyone here had problems with URD? I bought some Doug Thorley headers from them and went to install them and realized they were not going to fit so I them noticed that the part numbers was wrong. The paper work from them was right but the part number stamped on the headers was not. Now they are refusing to do anything about it saying that they don't know why the part number stamp is wrong but they are the right headers. So Ive been having this go nowhere conversation with morons for the last two weeks with no action on their part to do anything about it. Any suggestions out there on how to deal with these people ?

I have the faulty product in my possession though. I don't think they are going to reverse charges on something I did receive and didn't return. And right now they are not giving me that option.

Send them a copy of the invoice and picture of the actual part with mismatched part #’s. Tell em they refused to work with you, send all email correspondence if you have any. Should work.

I believe they are a vendor on here.
Post a pick of the part # and post a pic of the stamped # on the header.

Its a joke, they asked me to take pictures of the part number stamp on the headers and if they were the wrong ones they would fix it. As soon as they got the pictures they started backtracking that with excuse after excuse. As soon as I figure out how to post the entire email exchange I will. I went on their site and read reviews I'm not the first person this happed too and I'm sure I won't be the last. I wish I would have read the reviews before, I would have ordered from Summit Racing.

Did you try searching the numbers stamped ? Take some pics to show the misconfigured headers jf its that obvious it only helps your argument with facts..

Numbers stamped also may be a cross reference No# for the same partwhich means nothing to the consumer , its for the wholesaler/warehouse/manufacturer

I get your frustration & you should've at least been able to at least get an answer from them, just be as patient as you c... ..an & exhaust all reasonable dialogue before flame fucking them with an inflammatory thread... & not saying this one is......yet GL with it ;);)

Yes make sure what you order was correct and what they sent you was correct as well. Did you try reaching out to the actual manufacturer to see if they can give you input on what headers you got.

As for the CC dispute, it works, as long as what you order was correct but what you got was wrong. If they are a good CC company they will investigate and refund you your money which would be a charge back from the merchant, which in turn will force the merchant to take it back or they lose at both end. I could be wrong and it’s YMMV.

    Good luck.

Not the same number, seems pretty clear to me.

@ectrd has a point. Number that is stamp on there might be a cross reference number etc. I would reach out to the actual manufacturer, they would know if you got the right piece or not.

Which part of the headers don't fit? Flange going to the block? Connection to the rest of the exhaust? Pipe routing?

How about a pic of the complete header that you received? I'm sure some folks on here who have installed headers can comment on whether or not it looks right.

It's been probably 10 years since I installed headers on my old 4.0 Tacoma but it's a damn tight fit.

    Mostly Zip-Ties
Send the parts back with a signature required and return receipt, take picks of the tracking number and of the parts in the box, send all that to your bank and dispute the charge. I'd CC URD in the email as well.

    Just a thought.

That really sucks. Guess I'll be getting my headers elsewhere. I'm already paranoid about the ball on my short-throw shifter...

The flange is fine matches my existing exhaust manifolds. The problem is the front passenger side tube is too long by a little over an inch and runs into the shock tower. Not to mention being around 2 inches too long to get over the studs. I did reach out to Thorley they said it was an a number they don't sell and could possible been a special order for someone and got mixed up. They want to help but since I bought the headers from URD they we're not just going to give me new ones and said I URD needs to deal with my part of it and they would deal with URD, but since URD won't do anything I'm stuck.

Call your CC co. and dispute the charges. It wasn't the product advertised, simple. It will make URD have to take action, putting the ball in their court, which will be that they will want the parts back, which they should do at their cost.
