Did your time dissappear completely or did it show where the time was supposed to be but blank?

Should be easy. Just see if your navigation is working. If the GPS signal is lost you have found the problem.

You said its a 2016 and you just bought it two weeks ago. Maybe the previous owner did some funky stuff. Reset to factory default settings and connect your phone to it with the Entune app on your phone to push any current updates. That way you will know its fresh and can forget about how it is set up currently, but resort back to the way it would have been straight off the lot.
Also, as someone else stated, make sure your Nav is working and receiving a GPS signal.

What is under the Apps/Setup/General tab when you touch it?

That does not look like my home screen where I do have a clock in the upper right side above the 'gps" map. :goingcrazy:

Saw someone else with the "Driver Speak Easy" app on their Tacoma Entune. The "Over the Air" update that pushed for their radio messed it up and it had to be reflashed with the Tacoma Specific update.

I believe this is the issue because I have been getting the same message as that OP when I crank the truck, it had been doing it since I bought it so I didn't know it was a symptom. Currently at the dealership waiting. TechnicIan said that an incorrect update was probably pushed through. Thanks fellas, will update when I get my truck back! And for those asking, the navigation has been working.

It was showing "system time" where others said clock, and there was no clock option as I stated in the op

It's a clock conspiracy thing from Toyota, they did that on purpose to faulk with you.

It seems the radio is screwed, the dude said it wouldn't let them program anything, he said I would need a new radio. It's still under warranty, so $50 for the deductible. I'm gonna hold off for the time being. Kinda pissed they wouldn't just fix it being as it was like that when I bought it, just didn't think anything of it at first. Oh well. May look into after market options.

It sounds like their own update process bricked the system, so you shouldn't even have pay the deductible. That's bullshi*t.

Call corporate again with this new info.

Yea, I dont think you should have to pay the deductible. It was not something you caused. Is there another dealer nearby?

Why is there a deductible when it’s under warranty? Seems like toyo pushed the wrong software out or whoever had your truck before you tried to manually update with the wrong firmware. Either way you shouldn’t have to pay.

New update, said the shop foreman looked at it and said he thought it could be the radio, but he was leaning towards it being the SD card, said it looked like it may have been tampered with. He said the SD card was not warrantied, $180. I plan on looking over my warranty good and calling corporate

There is another dealership nearby but I don't work with them, they're actually the dealership closest to me but they send most of their business elsewhere.
