I have searched and searched without much luck. Do any of you guys have a hi-rise camper shell on a 1st gen double cab? I am trying to find one for my truck and I’m having a hard time finding a shell period. Much less a hi-rise model. I found one a few weeks back that was about 300 miles from me. I jacked around and it sold. Anyway, I would love to see some photos of some hi-rise shells on the double cabs. I’m looking for a white one or a black one.

I've never a high-rise for a short bed 1st gen. I'm subbing to this thread in hopes they might exist somewhere.

I've never seen one either, seems like double cab shells are almost exclusively the nicer leer/fiberglass types as opposed to the older aluminum style or high rise ones

I have the Leer on my 1st gen Double Cab. It is very sleek. That said, when I was searching for one last year, I actually ran into two of the high rise ones. To me they looked horrendously ugly, and god knows how terrible aerodynamic they are. Then again, I am sure its useful if you want to sleep inside and are tall or something.

    Good luck with the search.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I had one, but a tree branch fell on it last winter and busted it all to hell. I lucked out and found it on CL one day and snagged it, now I'm trying to find another and it's proving difficult! Especially in redneck Montana where hardly anyone has a Tacoma and drives big diesel 'Murican beasts instead.tumblr_ors0lbMG4F1smy8g5o1_1280.jpg

This! This is exactly what I’m looking for and I’m certain this is the model I saw on Facebook marketplace before it sold. I should have screen shot it. If I remember correctly, it looked like it had a long narrow sky light window that ran across the width of the shell where it slopes up.

This is what I’m referring to. A quality fiberglass shell with about a 4-6 inch rise. I don’t think they’re “horrendously ugly”. But to each their own.

Doesn't help much that it's in SC. But they are out there.

Yeah that’s a pretty long haul for me. I’d be willing to travel about 5-6 hours one way. That looks like it might be for an extendo cab as well.

Yea, sorry. Just contacted him. It is for AC.
Was possibly traveling to moab in Feb, thought I could drag it along if it was something of interest.

Looks awesome! Does it have the little sky window on top?

Let’s make this a little harder... does anyone have a doublecab tall boy with WINDOORS? That is my ideal setup.

Ended up finding a leer 100xq about 2 hours away from me. It’s not a hi rise with windoors, but I’m happy with it. I think I’ll leave it black for now. Kinda liking the look.908A81A0-CF12-40B2-B719-47863D093E50.jpgC42782B6-E05D-45FA-A127-A1890057D32C.jpg0E4489D8-97A5-4F25-8BF2-6FFB59F6F1D0.jpg
