They’re Jegs brand steelies. Don’t even almost fit without spacers. The wheel center is more flat than I was expecting. Needs at LEAST 3/4” spacers to clear the calipers. Possibly 1”. Im waiting on 3/4” spacers from Wheelers now.

 

What time again? Maybe I can swing by for a few minutes after work.

 

2 days. Much faster than Wheelers. But no stale candy

My Parents furnace died. It’s so old they couldn’t get parts for it. I had to help them out, so I already scaled back this project.

I canceled the crawl box and won’t be doing RCVs right now.

I suppose 37s, a Dana 60, and a flatbed will do for now.

I still can’t believe you haven’t sold that yet.

 

That’s some bad news bud. I have an old antique single pipe steam I took out of service 9 years ago. Think I calculated it was 70% efficient when new. Now I’m 96%. So that might be the bright side of their ordeal.

By the time you install all of that you might have another pot of cash to blow.

Yeah, they have a wood furnace, but they’re both unwell. It’s hard for them to keep it going.

Well, my Father just can’t. It’s hard for my Mom. I’m in NJ, they’re in NH. We’re trying to help them stay on their own as long as it’s possible.

Anyway... Mom and Dad being warm is much more important than a crawl box, or having to change an axle on the trail.

Plus, it’s one less project to do.

Do you/they have other close family out in NH? I look out for my parents too and it's not easy with them 1.5 hours away.... hats off to you with them out out in NH

 

My Brother lives a few miles away. He’s over there a lot.

It is tough. I’m going to spend a couple of weeks up there after the New Year.

Yeah, that’s tough. I’m fortunate, my folks are two miles away and my in laws are within walking distance.
It’s great having both sets of grandparents close by for my kids.

 

They have an open offer, and we all know it will happen one day, to move in with us.

I know when my time comes, I won’t want to let go of my independence either.

For now, it’s working.

 

Anyway...

Anyone have a 3’ chunk of 2x4 steel tubing laying around?

 

My parents are 84 & 76, enjoying retirement, in good health (Knock on wood) and traveling at their leisure.
They downsized to a smaller rancher about 10 years ago and are now considering a +55 retirement community.
I hope I’m in as good a shape as they are when I’m that age.
