So I moved into a new neighborhood with my wife and we contacted the police to see how the neighborhood was before we moved. They said it was a good and quiet neighborhood. Great! We've been here for a few months and over time, I've noticed there is a great amount of traffic that goes to the residence on the other side of the street from us. Never really the same cars and they are very quick visits. Today, 3 different people in the two hours I was outside. One even went back to his car and went back in with wallet in hand. I laughed, but the wife and I are trying for our first child and obviously I am beginning to wonder about this situation. The guy is always nice and smiles/says hi every time he is out, but shit is bound to go wrong one day.

I thought about contacting police, but I have no evidence, just suspicion. I don't know what's going on, but its obvious they're not coming for Mary Kay LOL. The thing is that they are quiet people.

Should I just let it be? What would you do? If you have a child, would it make a difference?

I would just let it be. If you try to get in their business and they find out you know or contacted the police it can be a bad situation.

you could give the PD a tip, just say hey i think this is what going on and here's why, but if he gets his door blown down by the cops, you're going to be the first on his list as to who ratted him out since you're new in the neighborhood. i'd let it go but keep an eye, if you start seeing real sketchy stuff goin down i'd let the cops know.

some of the nicest and chillest guys i've known have been weed dealers

The funny thing is a few weeks in after we moved here, an old lady, I'd say in her 80s on her scooter with stunna shades, came by to ask how we were and she said "I think they are selling that dope in there"... the funny part is that it was random. We were just talking about the neighborhood and how it was quiet.

I don't know if it is because I am thinking about it, but it seems like the traffic has ramped up in the past few weeks. There was even a random dude that knocked on my door around 11:30 PM and asked for the guy. I told him he lived across the street and he went over. I was not happy about that. This was his sisters house, so I am guessing he lived here at one point in time.

I'd go down and talk to the PD and just voice my concerns just to give them a heads up.
It may be nothing but unless you check it out you will never know.

Lots of people will say ignore it out of fear but I'm the type of guy that when he finds a tick on me I deal with it instead of just hoping it drops off and goes away.

^^^ Only thing is What if its too late?

I'd say move into a better Neighborhood. Does it Have a community watch? My neighborhood used to be REAL tight on community watch. That's when things were REALLY good. Now, it kinda sucks, there's tagging on the sidewalk, 1 shooting and dealers that meet up to sell.

I have a neighbor that is a drug dealer. We also live in a really quite neighborhood. He is probably the best neighbor I have ever had. He keeps a really good eye on the neighborhood for us. There has been more than once he has caught people breaking into cars in our neighborhood and homes... He has even gotten shot at by a guy with a bb gun and took it like a champ! LOL but in all honestly just keep your mouth shut he may be your best friend.

Unless you see anything disturbing I would leave it alone. Don't worry unless you feel threatened.
