What’re you painting, the center caps?

I just rattle can my wheels with black spray paint every once in awhile

 

Yea. I want them to match. I tried to convince myself to just paint them black, but I wanna do this right.

 

I cant stand the hovercraft look that black wheels provide.

The sad part is, the powdercoater is like 5 mins from the paint suplier. Had I known this, I wouldve just gone there today after dropping them off.

 

son of a bitch now that's what I'm going to think whenever I see them...looks better on the radiant red than the original grey that they came as. Other than black I'm not sure what kind of wheels I'd want on a bright red truck, grey didn't look good to me...maybe bronze but it would have to be a dark, matte bronze.

I dunno, they get chipped and beaten up so much that I don't want to waste money on painting them legit, just easier to touch them up with a rattle can when they get bad enough

 

Hovercraft as it arrived at my dealer:
I'm old fashioned, I like silver wheels on most color cars. The gunmetal on my impulse red taco is too dark for me. The bronze paired with spruce mica 2nd gens tho...

This is what I decided on color wise:

Guess it doesn't look too bad on the stock truck but I think the black looks better with the way she looks now

 

Thats not bad. I guess its the gloss black that bugs me. Its harder to make out the actual profile of the wheel.

 

Legit urethane auto paint is a pain to get in CA.

 

We in NC hate the environment so its easy to get here.

 

oh yeah I'd never do gloss...nothing shiny goes on my truck if I can help it, lol. Except the lug nuts I suppose

 

I was browsing the plasti dip thread earlier. In most after pics, I was wandering where's the wheel? All I saw were black circles. Made my eye twitch. Cars need contrast. The bright red/flat black you got is a good combo. I think the bedlined rockers on mine made the gunmetal appear to dark.

 

Those microwave hoods are ass. If you cook alot especially with oil they break easy. Get a proper hood and a normal microwave

 

Why would I buy a new hood and microwave for an apartment I rent?
