The definitive test for knowing if you have a blown headgasket is either a chemical test or 3 gas analyzer at the radiator. You can have a headgasket that is barely leaking not to cause milkshake or whitesmoke out the tail pipe. But it would smell sweet kinda. Here is a tester I use/used a lot it's about 95% accurate. I would go to the headgasket last. Like I said you can have a very small leak that doesn't show and the coolant evaps before it can hit the ground the tell tale is that pink crusty stuff around hoses, water pump, etc.

Thank you for making me aware of this, I might have to use it. I’ve been doing some research into coolant leaks related to header installs and it seems to be a somewhat common occurrence. If in fact my coolant leak is related to my aftermarket headers, does that mean the cylinder block could be damaged? I’ve just been thinking about this and have been really worried about the idea of having to get a new motor.

 

Do what!!!!!!!!! In all my years I have never heard of this nor seen it. Link? What are they saying causes coolant leaking from installing headers.
