Bump for more replies. I have had a finished OD green lower hanging on my bench for almost a year. Still not sure how fancy or not I want to go with it.

What would a mid grade build cost?

A little more than buying a factory Glock

Anyone have a line on good price for a complete G19 upper? I ended up with a brand new Lonewolf Alpawolf lower in a trade and can't stand to have half a gun staring at me every time I open the safe. All the nice slides I have seen cost as much as buying a complete gun so it is hard to justify.

At this point 80% Glock clones do not save you money. They are just fun to build. Factory Glocks are actually an amazing value for what you get IMHO.

No kidding. I didn’t buy an 80% lower to save money, but more for the cool factor. Little did I know that I should have just bought a cool aftermarket slide for my 19. I would have saved money in the long run.

Brownells makes nice slides at a good price point. But you still have to get a slide parts kit and a barrel so you’re looking at a few hundos at the least.

No doubt the factory Glocks are great for the money. I'm in the process of finishing a p80 and it will be the only one I bother with. Despite hunting for deals it came out pretty expensive compared to a factory Glock.

    Here is the breakdown:

    80% Lower - $75
    Holosun 507c - $245
    LPK - $45
    UPK - $70
    3.5 lb Trigger Connector - $15
    Threaded Barrel - $60
    Supressor Height Sights - $50
    Barrel Thread Protector - $5
Brownells RMR Cut Slide - $172
    RIT Dye - $2

    Total - $739

Without the red dot it would have been closer to $480, which is still more than a factory Glock 19.

So I was wrapping up assembling my p80 and I ran into a snag. The takedown lever spring does not sit far enough into it's slot to clear the recoil spring/guide rod.

Waiting to hear back from the manufacturer.

I am assuming you gave it a good push? I had to use a flat blade and some oomph to get it to sit in there...

On some of the earlier kits the slot wasn't deep enough. I had to trim the bottom of the spring on my compact to get it to fit. It works fine but in hindsight I should have sent the frame back since that was minor compared to some of the other fitting required. I've got a subcompact arriving tomorrow so hopefully they've got the bugs worked out.

But there isn’t a factory glock that comes with all your upgrades so it’s not really the same thing. The major advantage is the grip angle matching the 1911 grip angle. So natural for pointing. I love mine

But you’d lack the grip angle so it’s not the same at all.
