Need help with exhaust

    Ok guys, i have been researching exhaust for a while and now my brain hurts, but havnt quite found what i was looking for. I know i want a magnaflow muffler and want a deep rumble just like everybody else. So here are a few questions:
    1)What is the differences in terms of sound between the 5x8x14, 5x8x18, and 5x8x24?
    2)Is a dual out exhaust going to make it deeper and louder?
    3)Do tips make a difference, i have heard both ways so dont know what to believe, i heard that longer rolled tips are the best for loud and deep.
    4)Would a bigger diameter exhaust pipe for the part coming out of the muffler make it deeper and louder, oh and i havnt researched it, but what is the stock diameter on our exhaust?

    Sorry but i am tired of looking thru all these threads, just to many to go thru. Thanks in advance...Mike

    how loud do you want it?i've got the trd,its kinda deep and growls ,but quiet when cruising.

    Thats what i figured, it seems like the smaller the muffler, the louder it is, i just want to know what the 5x8x24 sounds like compared to it.

    Dual chamber dumped over the rear axle. Would probably go with the 18".

    do you mean dual out, wouldnt chamber be inside the muffler, i am going with a magnaflow and those are straight thru.

    I'd recommend having it dumped after the axle or "turned down". It supposed to echo the sound off the ground. Just make sure it is after the axle because before will make it quite loud inside the cab.

    Here is my dual chamber flowmaster dumped over the rear axle for reference. I think your's might be a little quieter and less raspy.

    wow i like how deep it is, and if mine wont be as raspy, im guessing cause mine will be straight thru right, then that might be the perfect set up. Thanks for the vid!

    I disagree, if it's dumped before or after the axle the sound is the same. I've had both on two
    different trucks and I couldn't hear a
    difference. I'm currently running a DynoMAX
    dumped before the axle (LT suspension in the future) and it sounds great. If you go this route the tip wouldn't matter

    I think he suggested after the axle so that it wont be so loud in the cab, but on the outside it probably sounds the same

    is yours single in single out? And how loud is it in the cab while under normal acceleration and cruising, do you have to raise your voice to talk over it?

    would it be louder with dual turn downs or would that just be rediculously loud and should i go with bigger diametered tubing on the exit part?
