With his nicer fogs, he wanted a nicer light bar. Coincidentally I was selling my nice light bar, so Bryan scooped it up.

 

Damn I want a nice light bar.

 

Really excited to get that light bar installed. I'm going to try to do a bench test with the Amazon bar IF I don't get too excited and remember to do it. Might remove the Amazon bar Saturday late morning before heading to a Christmas lights event Saturday afternoon with the wife, mother, and mother-in-law. Saturday night bench test in the garage and Lightforce install Sunday. Perhaps some night shots if I can squeeze it in.

BCC frame plates from the great white North showed up!! These things look really nice and fast shipping from Canada to boot! Just about a week door to door. Clean steel, packaged nicely, and some free HP! Great company to work with and I hope I can do business with them in the future. Just some DOM now and this project can get started

BD all day. A few good sources here on TW for them like paranoid or mario/vivid illum.

Look at how many baja trucks run BD as opposed to rigid, and that's all the evidence you need.

Any of the Seymor, U-pol, 3m stuff is good also but more expensive than the easwood. Also U-pol has a bunch of different options with copper etc. I don't know what makes that better or anything but could just be made ofr a certain type of welding etc. I like the eastwood stuff cheap and works well from what I've done.

Yes! LOTS of the boxing/bracing threads I've read suggest that you use it for the inside of the frame rails. Also, if you run full plates, you weld any nuts omg the backside of the frame before boxing it up. For the plates I have, I MIGHT be able to get a wrench in there, but I will likely just have any bolts welded as a precaution. The cut outs are more for foreign object drainage; water, salt, mud, etc.

This. Reason I requested/would have purchased Rigids fogs is they're SAE/DOT. BD doesn't have anything as of today, but I hear they're coming out with something DOT approved soon. Not sure I recall the ETA but perhaps mid-late next year. Not 100% on that. Everything else wouldn't concern me.

I hear the BD fogs are insanely bright and the beam goes everywhere. Some people have put them on a dimmer switch to be able to control the brightness while driving if needed for certain applications. For me, it wouldn't be worth all of that as I frequently use them. I always run them on the highway in rain, snow and at night. For some reason, drivers here need help knowing where you are in other lanes. More lights help those idiots.

Curious how this Lightforce bar holds up with water/moisture. Not sure if EST had issues, but being on the east coast and a solid dude, I'm sure he would have disclosed anything out of the ordinary to me.

I know Rigids have moisture issues too but a good warranty when it comes to dealing with that problem and I'm not worried about it.

If I was ever to replace my 40" Heretic, I'd probably go with BD. Just MHO and .02. Heretic has held up great. Only issue was that relay that was toast. No issues with the bar itself; moisture etc. No complaints and a solid bar all around.

I have never heard this before. Ran them on boats and such never an issue. My fogs are holding up great so far.

 

Maybe it's older models/styles. Not sure.

When I was looking at led dually style fogs for my Pelfreybilt bumper, most of the videos/reviews brought up moisture issues. To be fair, some of them might have been videos from 10 years ago.

 

I’ve used SEM and Seymour from Amazon. Either or works well enough.

Pretty slick stuff for sheet metal repair or behind frame plates in this case. Keeps the edges of metal (namely the blind side that you can’t hit with paint once your done) from rusting when they are lap welded together.

 

Hey, I'm a believer so far.

I have, now, 5 different lighting manufacturers on the rig or to be installed shortly on the rig.

Heretic - no issues aside from the relay that looked like it was on the Titanic.

Amazon - fogs and 20" bar - fogs had moisture issues and I had to use caulk to seal but once that was done, no issues. 20" bar no issues that I saw; will find out more when it's removed and inspected. (Soon to be rid of all Amazon LEDs)

Rigids - reverse/fuck you lights in the rear bumper (installed for 8 months; came used with bumper) and now foglights - no visible issues in either. Fogs are brand new and only 10 days old. They grow up so fast..

Black oak LED - Sasquatch/landing lights - 1 light had issues and was replaced under warranty; got to keep the old light. Supposedly, new design addresses moisture issues. No problems so far with moisture. Small grounding issue has been addressed. (Sponsorship don't forget)

Lightforce - to be installed

 

I only had the bar on my truck for ~5 weeks but in that time I had plenty of rain and bombed through water holes while wheeling with no issue! If something does arise, talk with memario because that’s who I purchased it through.

 

So instead of lights I bought ICON Delta Joint UCA's for my Poser Mobile. Got an awesome price of 660.00 shipped.
