I would assume that buying and installing the voting Ecu/Tcu system would not create any issues with the twin turbo set up, as that would limit the customer base, but that I would check. I tried to read through most of this thread, and didn’t see anything on this but could have just missed it.

On a similar vein, Will the tune for the twin turbo overlap with the current ovtune software?

The same tune kit will be used for that turbo kit. You just install the turbo flash, using the same kit. Like a new tune option.

Great, thanks Ovtune. Look forward to hearing about more progress on this setup and definitely hope this will be able to pass CA standards without too much hassle!

He's already established that CARB certification won't be something he chases after if the customer-popularity/sales don't make it worth it

i.e. needs to move enough product to make it worth the time, money, and effort

thanks mZiggy, I must have missed that in reading the thread. In that case put me down as another CA resident who would be much more interested if the system passed CARB cert.

Would CA residents be interested in paying an additional $200 to pay for the CARB cert?
How much is it worth to you?

I’m from Cali and don’t care for the carb cert. Let’s just find someone who will pass it for us. Lol.

Not sure if pricing was mentioned yet? Ballpark?

While I agree and used to do this myself for previous vehicles, good luck. Harder to find people willing since now it's a crime to falsify inspection results. I could even swear someone told me it's a felony in CA now, but misdemeanor is a safe bet.

As for pricing, plan on paying at least 6-7k for the time being. Solid estimate. Mat hasn't listed official numbers yet but still did scoff at someone's comment about a $3-3500 twin turbo kit, rightly so.

Dang, possible felony? Dammit. Time to move out of California. I tried it about 2 years ago with a Miata I had and it took me 6months to find a dude from a guy, who knew a guy, that knew a guy. Then he charged me an arm and a leg lol.

Even 6-7k is reasonable.. When I had my 370z there were a few TwinTurbos and if I remember correctly they were all $10-12k.

So now that we have 1.05 wrapped up we will be moving back into boost.

We are also completely tearing the ecus code and rebuilding it.
Next year is gonna be fun.
