i have it and it looks nice under the hood for what it's worth. i put all my performance hopes on a custom exhaust and OV tune and that worked out, that's where the fun is. the TRD CAI does look nice, however. maybe a bit more sound and a possibly a tad of throttle response, arguable, YMMV.

The Tacoma is reliable and has a ton of capability. If it's performance you're looking for, it's time to look elsewhere.

I feel like anything short of a supercharger is a waste of money.

    How about more performance?

Or maybe driveability more to the individual's liking?

I guess I could say the same thing about someone who spends thousands on re-gearing their truck.. But I don't, 'cause it's not my money lol :)

often hear that from the 18's... those guys don't have the complaints we had. like you said yesterday if the TSB came with your truck you probably never would have gone for the tune.

LOL! I’m so fed up with the Panthers at this point. I don’t see how we can beat the Saints.

    ?
toyota never made a TRD intake
    They contract real intake manufacturers.

Ill assume it was the one with bolts on top? That one is made by AFE and is super annoying loud
the all plastic black and red one is made by k&n/aem (k&n bought aem out yrs ago)

IMO, the entire Dirty Deeds thread reads like a damn infomercial at this point. I won't take their offerings seriously until they begin publishing charts and videos demonstrating tangible performance gains, and said gains would need to be verified by a few trusted third parties.

Until then, I'll consider their exhausts the Tacoma equivalent of sticking playing cards into the spokes of a bicycle.

I’m talking about the factory Toyota TRD intake pictured below.

ok, thats the K&N/AEM flawed design made FOR toyota "TRD"
based on the wrong intake diameter tube and the idiots passed the design which causes a lean condition.

TRD shocks are bilstein or fox etc
TRD coils for the baja/pro are eibachs
trd exhausts have been gibson and borla for years (may have changed now, but it aint no TRD factory)
"TRD" superchargers for the 2nd gen have ALWAYS been made by magnuson, based on an Eaton design for toyota
    the list goes on
    "TRD" doesnt manufacture products

Thank you for telling us its loud tho, I always wondered if they were as annoying as the prior "TRD" (AFE) intakes.

Good info. Just curious what your source is on the lean condition supposedly caused by the TRD Intake on 3rd Gens?

Oh, okay. Now I see what you mean. Vehicles are comprised of many parts that are manufactured by companies other than the brand manufacturer.

Yeah, I know. Read my initial post when I referenced test driving a 2nd Generation Tacoma with a TRD intake.
