Last Word isn't coming until February. If you don't have the Luna's Howl... Trust is about the best weapon you can use in Comp.

 

On the last part of the Machine Gun quest from the Black Armory and it is insane. First level is 510, second level is 520, Third level is 530. So I recommend grinding your power level before trying to complete it. It's no joke. We made it to the third round but everything is on a timer so you have to get the orbs in fast and with high level mobs shooting you it's a challenge.

 

Exciting to know that it is coming back at least. Been slowly chipping away at the quest for Luna's Howl. I'm muddling through the Broadsword quest also but man there are a ton of steps. Still enjoying the game so I got that going for me. The crucible can be pretty unenjoyable at times but that's based on my lack of teamwork and proper equipment.

 

Broadsword quest is no joke. I did nothing but PvP for a week and 3 days to get it. That was nothing but PvP that entire time. Luna’s Howl is easier to get with the exception of hitting fabled which you will need a good team for.

 

I've had that happen before. Thing is... they said when maintenance was going to start so I don't start anything if it's getting close to the time they bring the servers down. I've been booted with an error code before and was suspended for 15 mins before through no fault of my own. Sucks but it happens.

I'll tell you what really sucks though... This fucking expansion. For the life of me I cannot figure out how Bungie created such an amazing expansion with Forsaken only to go back to what they have done in the past. Got the quest for the Machine Gun (who knows what it will actually be?), went through all the steps, and got to the end. Turns out that it is a three tier activity that ramps up to 635 on the third wave. A buddy and I made it through the second wave but forget it if your 600 on the third. So what Bungie has done is make us play the same content we've been playing for the last 3 months to level up (slowly I might add) before you can even start to take advantage of the Black Armory. That... is fucking horseshit. I'm sitting at 602 right now after playing most of the day with almost all milestones completed (with the exception of the Petra's weekly's). I don't mind grinding at all. I never have. But when a new expansion comes out I'd actually like to grind new shit rather than rehash old shit we've been doing for 3 fucking months.

I don't want the items given to me. I want to earn them. But at the same time I want to play new content rather than old content. That said... I've no idea how this new expansion will turn out. It may be good (I seriously doubt great) and time will tell. But if the next expansion comes out and it's like this... I'm done. I've spent 4 years of my life in this game. I've criticised it when it needed to be criticised (harshly I might add) and I have praised it when it deserved to be praised. But this expansion, as it stands right now, sucks balls. We all want new content but we don't get it because we have to play the old content many times again just to be able to play the new content.

Don't take my word for it?? Jump on over to the Bungie forums and see all the salt that is going on over there. If it goes this direction once again I'm out and once Anthem is released that is where you'll find me.

 

Is there anything new worth logging on as my titan? My titan is only 534. If not I’ll jusy keep grinding with my hunter. Already 324 and level 37!

 

Essentially what Bungie did was time gate the Black Armory. Just like they time gated the quest for the Thunderlord with the exception you have to grind your ass off in old content. Fuck that shit. I hate any time gated material. It's there just to get the number of players up because Activision didn't like where Forsaken fell in the annual report.

People have been burned by Destiny that those that have been burned are not coming back no matter what. Those of us that have stuck around through the good and bad times and are invested in this game will eventually be run off it if keeps going this direction.

There is nothing new until you reach max level. You're just going to have to finish everything and grind to 600+

 

At least you have one. I've been trying to get one for over a month.

 

If you're talking about picking up heavy off the wall in crucible then every sniper is in the same boat.

 

We’ll... since the Queenbreaker is “essentially” a sniper it is what it is. There is no damage drop off with the Queenbreaker so I’ve no issue with that even if I had one.

 

That is why everyone was terrified if someone was using a Queenbreaker in Trials

 

I like the grind but I do agree black forge could have been done better. It will be a week at least before one of my characters gets enough light level to do wave 3.
My titan is 603 after I did all weaklys and daily's yesterday except the 8 daily's for Petra (got all 5 done but need 8), and blind wells. Those will give me 3 more powerful gear.
I did get a 609 one of these though!


Damn I'm lucky with exotics lately, sorry @RearViewMirror! even got the 10 forsaken exotic trophy unlike 95% of players give or take.
Next character will level faster though switching weapons so maybe my warlock could do phase 3 by Saturday ish.

 

I got that a while back and believe it or not it is actually fun in PvP (and actually useful if used correctly).

I'm sitting at 603 with the same unfinished bounties as you. My issue is not that. My issue is we have to go back and replay the same shit we have been playing for the last three months to gain power level just to be able to complete the first mission of the new expansion. You know that I do not mind grinding at all. But what I do mind is grinding the same shit over and over just to be able to start a new mission in a new DLC. Before The Black Armory dropped I had almost completely run out of things to do in the game (other than try for exotics). I'm was sitting at max level and I liked the way Forsaken was set up. My opinion of the way The Black Armory should have released is the first mission for the Machine Gun would be to go through all the steps and then walk into the forge and make it difficult but not impossible. I don't (and never have) wanted an item "given" to me. I want to work for it. But the way it stands right now we have to grind old shit just to get new shit and that is fucking stupid. We would have gotten the Machine Gun and figured out what The Black Armory is all about. THEN let the challenge ramp up while leveling things in the new DLC (or raid). Don't force us back into shit we've already done hundreds of times before. JMO

 

I'm serious... Go look at the Bungie forums right now. NO ONE is happy about this change. I would like to assume Bungie is shitting themselves right now but I figure that is a pipe dream. I would love to hear the conversations at Bungie this morning. They know that the vast majority (even hardcore players like myself) are completely unhappy with this DLC and my hope is they are in panic mode. If this roadmap that they have laid out continues then I personally think Destiny is done. There won't be a D3 after this unless they can pull something out of their ass that is unbelievable. Even then... the people that they have burned in the past will never return no matter how good it might be. But judging from past experiences... I don't think they can pull it off.

I just don't understand how Forsaken was so good and now we get this shit. Good luck with trying to do the raid on the 7th lol.

 

I agree, it's like they heard people saying we want a grind and took it way too far. If the first forge was level 600 throughout and the next ones crank up in level that would have worked. Lots of people on the forums have not even reach 550 yet due to life and work so imagine how few will even buy this dlc after hitting 600!

 

They screwed the casual players worse. I can get my power level up relatively fast compared to a casual player. That doesn't change the fact that they fucked us all with this expansion. Your grind from 601 if you play just casual will take you a few weeks before you can even enter the forge much less clear it. I'll get it done this week but I'm not happy about it. If they would have made the soft cap 600 and the forge 610 for the Machine Gun then it would be okay. Then level up through the forge to go to the next one. No one will be able to finish the forge tomorrow much less the one today unless you get extremely lucky with drops. It's a fucked up system that they put into place. They wanted to keep players playing to grind up to be able to do this endgame activity but leveling up requires doing the same shit we've been doing and that's no fun. You mark my words... they will run players off by doing it this way. Especially casual players.

 

Yeah, I'm still on the slow grind to 600 doing the same dang things over and over.

But they opened up a new section of the tower with 7 flights of stairs! New content! WTF Bungie.

 

New content you won't be able to even come close to finishing until you hit 615 minimum (and that's just the first step). That said... you knew the content was coming. It's not like they hid it from you.

*EDIT* If you're on the slow grind to 600 you need to do the raid. Nothing will get you there faster. If you don't have a group that runs the raid I suggest finding one that does.
