    Windrock has two trail systems. The 'XC' side (by the campground) or the 'DH' side (at the trailhead).

    The DH trails require their own pass (but not both) and can be bought at the general store. Whereas the XC side is covered by your OHV pass.

    Have you ridden there before? The trails are not entry-level and nearly all are black diamond trails. Including the "XC" side. Let me know if you want specific beta regarding the trails as I ride/build there often

    Nope. Never ridden there. Id stick to the XC trails if I did though. I won’t be riding this time around so I’ll probably take a look at the trails and see how they compare to stuff I’ve ridden before.

    I know I don’t even have the bike for downhill riding. Unless they rent them, then I’d try it. My bike is suitable for the trails on Monte Sano... not sure how that’d compare.

    The trailhead is easy to miss. It's a pulloff on the campground road. Definitely go check it out dude it's great riding, not "XC" as the name implies. Northshore style lines with technical rock gardens and wood features. Mixtape and South Side are trails I would recommend checking out
    They have one green rated downhill run that just opened. The next easiest would be Talledega, a fast and wide trail with big tables.

    I would recommend at least a 5" travel bike. How fast do you ride Monte Sano? Windrock is same rock style as Monte Sano, imagine Wagon Wheel (?) at Monte Sano except much narrower and steeper.

    And they do rent Downhill bikes. I would recommend at least trying the DH trails, very highly regarded on the East Coast since they were built

    I mostly ride Mountain Mist when I go up there from the top down. I’ve found my bikes suspension limits before on that. I’m no stranger to rock gardens and roots though.
