Cash out your 401k is the first mod you need to do.

Yup. I just want a darker stock interior, without speakers or a moon roof.

Well its my 2nd day with the truck and I'm trying not to overreact, but truck has 265 miles on it so far and during the drive it smells of constant burning plastic. When I get out of the truck and park, I can smell the clutch burning pretty bad as well. Not my first new vehicle and not my first new manual vehicle. Don't recall the clutch smelling like crap during the first 200 miles.

Normal break in? Or a potential problem?

I ordered it on October 8th so a little over a month by the time I take delivery. I think it was a truck that was already going to be built my dealer just allocated it to their dealer instead of where it was originally going. It was built just last week, on the 7th and is in transit now.

The great thing about buying a new vehicle is they are warrantied. Call the service department, ask them about it and if you should bring it in. You will get everything for free and even a free rental if the repairs will take a bit.

Keep in mind your truck is new. There are some break in periods to go through and problems from the factory to workout. Don't wait ad get it done. The sooner you do that the sooner you will have a working truck.

Nice truck, as others have said, change the grill. The reason I didn't get the offroad addition. Pro grill or SR5 grill IMO looks best. Cool bed mat!

Does look good, something different than the PRO grill that everyone has. But I still like the PRO grill better.

I'd be curious to know how you like the stock shift knob after a bit. A fair amount of M/T owners (myself included) switched it out since the stock double ball shape felt a bit off (unless you're a proctologist :anonymous:). I swapped mine for the pro knob and well, it's great.

I've got something scheduled, third day so far and I'm still smelling the burning crap inside the truck and the burning clutch when I park and get out.

Yeah, I like the look of the current grille. I actually like the spindle design, it matches my 2017 Lexus GSF.

I've got a TRD pro shift knob on order. The current shift knob feels weird, feels like I'm grabbing a pair of balls... I used to be a nurse and assisted a Physician with 100's of vasectomies so I know what it feels like... Sooo yeah..

Anyways, no other mods planned. I haven't even had time to look over the truck a bit. Being a full time federal employee and a full time graduate student with medical school next year, I probably won't ever have time to do mods.. Oh well, its pretty sweet as is.

Congratulations!! not sure if anyone mentioned the A/C drain extension ??! That’s the first mod I’d focus on, cheap and fast. 2nd before you take it off road is diff breather ? Then pretty much everything here!
Plus RRT,Suspension 30-40 “ light Bar, rock lights!, bug guard with window covers. Lot and Lots of light pods and along with tires you need a CMC!! Don’t forget that either. Anything else I left out? This forum will definitely help you get more in depth. the 36,000 was just a start.

Dude dont feel bad the AT adds more to the price plus he also doesn't get the crawl control feature and many other features that come on the AT model. I just took delivery of my 2019 tacoma 4x4 off-road cement premium & tech package. I paid 39500 OTD. I have a new grill and BFG KO2 tires in the mail. Enjoy your truck!
