That would be sick because I have another whole set of tires and if you can just use an App i could buy 4 more sensors, record the IDs and just feed them to my ECU on the quick when I need to use those tires

 

Carista subscription is pricey.

 

Just read some Carista info and it sounds like thats what it can do.

Exactly. You can test drive it with an OBD adapter if you got one that works well.

Yup! I forgot cancel the trial week in time and got stuck with a year. I did feel that it was worth it to not have a struggle at the dealer to kill the belt chimes and set things how I wanted. Plus I did help another local Taco owner with it also. At least that is how I justified it to my cheap-ass self.

A week access for $10 isn't horrible.

There was a time when you could purchase a lifetime license. I wish I got in on that.

 

Can you get the week access then cancel and renew for a week again later when you need it? I dont see that info anywhere.

There was a time during the transition when they were hiding the lifetime purchase in the debug menu for those in the know. Maybe it's still in there? I don't see a debug menu on mine though. Could always try contacting the developer and asking?

There is no Debug menu or any other helpful choice like that. I did ask to be in the beta program though. If I get a reply, I will ask about a lifetime subscription.

how do you find the correct sensor ID?

 

Its on the sensor itself.

The existing ones come up on the Carista scan, just like in the screenshot that I posted earlier.

 

Aside from it being on the sensor I know that some tire shops have scanners they can hold next to the wheel to read the tag ID. Not sure if that works with Toyota OEM sensors though.
To make sure you're not hosed always write them down before installing.
On second gen trucks it doesn't matter the order because all the ECU can do is tell you there's an issue whereas on third gens the ECU can tell you which tire is losing pressure.

Question: does it automatically recalibrate tire/sensor positions after you rotate tires??

If you hold the reset button long enough to get three low pressure light flashes, it will reset the system and locate the wheel positions after some driving. This is why you do not pay for TPMS services at tire shops.

 

i was told by the dealer is automatically reads the tire position....but i don't know......i asked if they pressed the reset button after rotating the tires and they said it doesn't matter...so i don't know what to believe....3rd gen, 2016 with nav and tech pkg
