Just thinking out loud... eventually I plan on front/rear LT; but as of right now, my biggest issue is the rear, so that's coming first.

Just as I thought I had my game plan worked out... which was to do the archive shock relocation, 14" shocks, and their SUA kit... a good friend of mine just went and ordered a tube bender and notching rig, and intends to (at least for the near future), keep them at my garage (more room than his, plus I have a 240v line and welding gear). If that doesn't just scream "build a bed cage stupid!", I don't what does, lol. Which then leads me more down the path of DMZ's kit, and getting the most out of this effort.

But... despite this opportunity, I still have some reservations. We get a lot of rain/snow/mud around here; not conditions conducive to putting giant holes in ones bed. Also, I like to go fast... but we don't have many spots where I can legitimately take advantage of mass amounts of travel... and I feel like my original plan would be adequate. But of course the potential for regrets it's still there.

My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought, careening thru a cosmic vapor of invention.

I got into slop conditions alot when I still had a bed "with big holes" i took some basically conveyer belt rubber(fiber reinforced) and made like a boot sorta around the hole and shock which helped a ton in keeping shmegma outa the bed and allowed the shock to still wiggle around.

If you can afford it I'd go with the DMZ setup it will perform better in every condition. Just keep in mind if you carry alot of stuff in your bed to tell Tim to get you a spring pack that's for a lil extra wieght.

Is dirt/snow/mud really such a bad thing? Meaning do you sleep in the bed or something when camping? Why would a dirty truck bed be a bad thing for you? I love where there is plenty of snow and have the DMZ kit with their bedcage. Yes you get some debris through the holes, but the shocks block and keep most of it out. Worst case you can get some rubber mat and rivet it to the inside of the bed and cover up the holes some. If you are going LT in the front, you'll want the full DMZ LT in the rear in order to keep up with the front.

How do you keep shmegma out of the bed nowadays?

I think that settles it... going to go the DMZ route. I don't sleep in the bed or anything like that, just have tools, recovery gear, and the occasional basic camping gear (that's not likely to be in the bed while making use of said travel), sitting on a bed rug mat under a tonneau cover. Making up a boot, or perhaps even just dividing off the back half of the bed behind the shocks should solve any concern there.

Comparing the DMZ to the Archive route, the price difference doesn't seem all that substantial.

Backhalf it! Can't put giant holes in the bed if you don't have a bed!

What do you guys think about toyo MTs for Long travel? Too heavy for the wheel bearings? I found a good price on them but should I just stick with all terrain Falkens when I go to 35s? I also saw 35” toyo mts were 82 pounds a tire! They were also rated LT
    Thanks y’all!

    Yes
...or you could link it with no open holes in the bed ( bolt thru bed cage ) and have even more travel than a DMZ kit plus zero axle roll from leafs, adjustable pinion, adjustable spring rate, adjustable height...just sayin’...
