Long term is my plan as well. No way would this occur any time soon unless something fell into my lap. And yeah, I'm thinking just bolt the bitch right down to the bed rails. Once I put one on I will likely never take it off. Plus with it bolted down less cross bracing will be needed to make it rigid and strong. I will also design it with full length bed rail caps with tie down points. (I've seen a similar design I liked by a member on here)

Originally I thought I would sell the Bak Revolver and go with a soft topper and have a rack over it. I think that look is bad ass! But when our company moved downtown and I had to start parking in a public garage height limitations became a real issue.

So now I am thinking I would rather keep the Revolver for the added security and versatility, and have a shorter rack outfitted with a RTT that once installed would only be as tall as any gear I put on a Prinsu. Similar to a lot of guys I've seen. I want the top to be as even as possible for aerodynamics. I will likely make my own, taller wind deflector for the front.

My tonneau rolls up and is just barely as high as the rear seat middle section height so I am guessing like 12", 15" max. Then another 12" - 15" to the top of the cab. I am not sure how high a Prinsu sits above the cab. I'd like to think 3", maybe 4". Then add another 5" max for cargo like those weatherproof cases. I believe I currently have approximately 13" of play in the garage but would like to keep it to 10" max to be safe. I refuse to remove things like this stuff to do that. I'm not sure how tall a RTT is but ultimately, the bottom height while the top is even with the cargo on a Prinsu will dictate the rack height.

All these numbers are guesses on my part and I could be way off and that would change everything. But I would like to be able to utilize the underside of a bed rack too for storage. I think it would be a great place to store a folding leg table, or extra traction boards. I would like to keep the view out the back window clear though. I do have a rear view camera however.

So likely I will have to custom design the bed rack and have it made. I don't need cutting edge or a fancy design, so round tube to match sliders and the rest of any armor tubing would be fine and make the construction easier and cheaper.

Who knows, it might turn into my first welding project.

we are on the same page for sure. try keeping it as low as possible so when the RTT is on there its level with stuff on the roof rack, will help with, like you said, aerodynamics. I think you will have a little more room to play with then I will so u are lucky! my latches when standing up sit just under my third brake light if i'm not mistaken. but I think if I place the tubes in the exact right spot then I might be able to cheat the height a little bit. it works in my head, we will see if it works in reality when the time comes hahaha im just going to use some round tubing as well and it will probably be a project for me to build myself. I will get the tubes bent but I will weld it myself just for something to do. I like what you are saying about the full length bed rail caps, make new caps and a base for the tubes and remove the plastic ones. but I have other things I want first hahaha I was hoping to buy some sliders but I think it will have to wait until this time next year. I am going to attempt to make my own Prinsu style roof rack next summer as well as a flat tailgate skin.
