Rough Idle - 2018 Tacoma Sport DC 4x4

@yos21 OVtune is an engine tune recently released and constantly updated for the 2016 tacoma. It offers you about 25 ft lbs of torque and 30 hp from 2000 rpm all the way up, in addition to much clearer throttle response and predictable downshifts. Overall its amazing if you ask me, really makes the truck more fun to drive

 

i can understand some of your issues..but the touchscreen on the entune is one of the best and most responsive on the market. Not sure how you can have any problems with it. Its the highest rated OEM audio platform currently available. the knob sorta sucks but the actual unit and interface is very responsive

You literally said that that you expected more for your money, and that you drove another new truck on the lot that was no different. As bad as you think this problem is, you should have noticed it before you signed the deal. If you don’t like the truck you shouldn’t have bought it. Besides, you wouldn’t be the first person who came here to bitch and hadn’t driven the truck before buying it. What, do you think you’re special?

 

Those other Toyotas including your 2nd gen didn't have the Atkinson cycle engine or double overdrive transmission so of course it's going to drive different.

Not sure how a dealership responds to "I hate how it drives but I bought it anyway so now it's your job to make me like it."

 

Then they show up here and bitch about it. I have the same truck and love it. I bought the OV tune and it made a great truck even better. It didnt really matter what truck the OP had bought, he's going to bitch. There isn't a truck on the planet that would make him happy. There isn't one manufacturer that makes a vehicle that's perfect.

 

I have same issue. Was worse with idle issues, bouncing tach Toyota had to call in an engineer to figure it out. But I still have the same issue it’s not idle when I put in gear and hold break seem like the motor is shaking

 

I have the exact same thing happening. Also goes away in park and neutral.

 

This. Slap on some 93' and break the truck in.

 

What was the outcome? I havent brought mine in yet. I'm not looking forward to having to beg them to fix my still brand new truck like I did with the suspension. Took it in 5 times for bad squeaking finally they changed a rubber pad on top of the springs and it went away.
