This is my first post and my first time trying to walk through how I installed sometihng, so sorry if its not as detailed as some of yall's.

I ordered a remote start from 12 volt solutions:

    https://www.12volt.solutions/produc...utm_medium=quick-view&utm_campaign=quick-view

I chose this remote start for 2 big reasons:
    1)Plug and Play easy install
2)the system uses my factory key fob

It would have gotten delivered if USPS was halfway reliable however I live in McKinney, Texas and while my package was "out for delivery" it never showed up and when I checked on it online it was in Birmingham, Alabama where it stayed for a few days. 12 Volt solutions was able to resolve the problem as quickly as they could.

I am not a very DYI kind of guy but I figured I'd give this a try and it was super easy to install and to program. Total time was around an 1 hour with 20 minutes of that trying to re install the stupid kick panel.

12 Volt solutions has an awesome video that walks you through how to do it way better than I can explain and thats what I followed.

The only tools I needed was:
    Philips head screw driver
Flat head screw driver(or something to pry with)
    10mm socket or wrench
    Patience

First I removed the panel at the door. ( I had the plastic push pin remover just in case but didn't need it)

upload_2018-12-3_11-47-58.jpg Stripping off the panel is easy.

Then remove the kick panel.IMG_0103.jpg After that use your 10mm socket or Phillips head screw driver and remove the 3 bolts on the lower dash panel. You can see one of the bolts in the above pic.IMG_0104.jpg After you remove those pull firmly on the dash to expose all the harnesses and let it hang down.IMG_0105.jpgIMG_0106.jpg Now, you have to turn your truck on so you can turn your steering wheel to the left and right to remove a Phillips head screw from each side of the column. After those screws are removed, turn the wheel straight and turn off your truck. This is where I used the flat head screw driver to gently pry the lower part of the column off. I pryed at the blinker lever and at the windshield wiper lever to get the column to release.IMG_0107.jpg All this doesn't take very long to do. The actual install of the harness is as simple as plugging it in.IMG_0108.jpgIMG_0109.jpg IMG_0111.jpg Programming it was as simple as turning on a toggle switch and activating the box and a couple series of turning your truck on and off. I placed the box in a cranny that holds it perfectly and I don't have a pic so I'm sorry but its almost like it was made for each other.

I put everything back together in reverse order. Make sure you line up the lower steering column properly because the first time I did it and I turned the wheel it was rubbing so I had to move it around until I found its sweet spot.

The kick panel was by far the biggest trouble of the whole install. There are 2 plastic pushpins that insert in opposite directions and I still don't know how I got them to seat properly but after some finagling and colorful language I managed to get them to fit.

I hope someone finds this helpful. I'm looking forward to have a warm truck in the winter and a cool truck in the summer.

One of my clips won't hold after doing the remote start install. It's on the to do list behind everything else.

No I didn’t get the smart phone add. It’s a cool feature but not $300 cool. If you get it let me know how it works.

Yeah it does. Which is kind of annoying but it’s just another first word problem.

I've had mine off a few times. The first time I really struggled getting it back on. The secret I found is the body pins need to be forward in their slots. At least that seems to work for me.

TTE for the remote start, VEZN-XOTL-HP71 for the add on module. Might have to do two seperate orders to use them both.

*edit: someone tried the code for the add on and it didnt waork. Possibly was a one time code.

I went to use the VEZN-XOTL-HP71 and it didn't get any discount, it's $199.99 with out. What should the discount be for the add on module

Looking into this kit as I bought the KB Voodoo before I realized it exists. I think plug and play vs. splicing into a brand new truck is probably worth the $100..
