My patience with golds gym is growing thin. Only one squat rack in the place and jackasses squatting for an 1.5 hrs during peak gym times. Talked to the manager and he said their looking into geting a 'used' half rack. Gtfo. Getting closer and closer on turning my 24x48 pole barn into a home gym.

Any isolation movement would be ok, except for lying ham string curls and leg press. Leg extensions and seated hamstring curls, seated calf raises should hold you over. I had a herniated disc fixed and a disc fusion last February, so I feel your pain. Just take it slow and listen to the doc, I over did it and had a major setback.

I’m in the same boat. Very close to converting a space in my garage. We do have two squat racks at the Golds I go to but that’s about the only positive anymore. That and people are leaving for LA Fitness up the street because of how shitty this Golds is, so, it’s less crowded.

Pro Supps Mr Hyde - cherry popsicle= A+ in my opinion if anyone wants a morning Preworkout. Has a decent chunk of caffeine in it but the flavor is my favorite so far.

What about like box steps. Find a box or bench thats a couple foot off the floor and hold dumbells in your hand and just step up and stand straight.
I do those and love em.

I agree though with the advice to ask what exercises you can do.

Its hard to do legs when you are asked to keep your back out of it.

Just there's a anytime fitness down the street from there. Has two racks and is less crowded. Giving it till the new year resolutioners hit and if nothing's done by then I'm out.

This is true, I see him today before I'm scheduled to go to the gym... I'm not sure what I will do if I don't do legs today :(

    Haha
I’m not a big fan of doing cardio either...
    However, it is super important.

Currently, yes. They're the closest/only gyms to my house 12minutes away. I could go to different gyms if I wanted to stop on my way home for work, but they're more expensive. We have a gym at work that's pretty good but that means working out at 4am everyday before my shift starts.

Working out at 4am, fuck that noise. If the others aren’t too much more, it might be worth it.

So, regarding the gym issue I had earlier mentioned. I emailed the owner of the gym... This is a bit long, but worth the read. Their response is APPALLING. So glad I am gone.

    "Patty,

I want to thank you for your time on November 16th. I appreciate that you listened to name and me about our concerns regarding the gym atmosphere. As we discussed, we knew several people who also felt the disrespect and harassment put forth by name. You asked us to provide proof containing handwritten signatures from other members of the community that were also harassed and disrespected.

Each complaint, very similar in certain ways yet very much unique, were provided to you as you had requested. Several members of the Universal Fitness Gym have felt a level of disrespect and harassment so significant that they took time out of their lives to write a detailed letter about how they felt. They all share an experience very similar to mine. I sympathize with these individuals for they too had to experience similar disrespects and harassment that name and I faced every day in the gym. As of today, there was a photo posted that discriminated certain members of the gym which I attached for you to view. I cannot believe anyone would find this acceptable to hang up on the walls of the gym, let alone any business. Anyone who would allow this or perform this is completely unprofessional and out of their mind. If you need proof it was hung up, talk to your manager or even the members of the gym who you seem to forget exist.

These individuals are paying customers who felt disrespected in a place they call home, a place they see as an getaway from the monotony of their lives. This should be a place to become a better person, both physically and mentally. However, that is not the case when name is harassing every person in that gym, whether or not individual members are conscious of that fact. Whether you choose believe it or not, it unquestionably does occur. Prolonged negligence to such a serious issue will be incredibly damaging to both the community here and your business. We strongly urge you to reconsider your inadequate policies towards harassment. Harassment is a state offense and is defined as a course of conduct which annoys, threatens, intimidates, alarms, or puts a person in fear of their safety. These are all actions that name has regularly exemplified in the gym and even on his social media page."

Her response as follows to my entire email:

"I had the picture put up as to not single out a certain member people were complaining about.I'm sorry it offended you. Others thought it got the point as across without singling anyone out. I was unaware there were any problems since I had a conversation with those involved."

After her response I informed another member of the gym and he was livid and spread the information. This resulted in many negative reviews on their social media and google.

I never responded to Patty, and within 12 hour she responds again with...

"I have also read all the disrespectful post you have all put on social media. This is unwarranted childish behavior."

LMAO, man what a joke. Can you make it more obvious you are protecting this POS trainer or what? Damn, I feel bad for her.

Pretty much 1 other, which I am at now. The other gyms are like those snap fitness and YMCA style gyms. Planet fitness...etc.
