Strangely enough, I could use an intake manifold as well. Is there a second one laying around?

You mean the part below the plastic intake? I'll have a spare one of those also if things work out.

Edit, I think you're talking about the part @hx989 is looking for. I'll only have one extra of those, if things goto plan.

I know what your talking about, bumpity bumpity bumpity. I hate that road on my ridgid frame motorcycle. Sound like bushing slop. Are your shocks topping out in the fast pace droop. Like the ome shocks due with 883 and no down travel?

Are your coilovers cranked so far so they have a short distance before fully extended?

Some shocks, like the factory ones when used with aftermarket coil overs, have no down travel left to them, or maybe an inch so when going over bumps, they "top out" suddenly producing that sound.

Oh gotcha. No the BPs have like another few inches of preload. Its actually more like the opposite where the transition from loaded to unloaded and back has a few mm of slack in it.

Thats next. If that fixes it, I'll talk to ARB. Hopefully they can help me out.

Have you changed anything load wise on the truck since you installed them?

Its a problem with any shock and some spring combos. The shock doesnt have enough over throw for the lift+ suspension travel. So your if your shock has 24 inches un assembled eye to eye and you put them in. Then they wind up sitting at 23 or 22.5 eye to eye, and you have 3 inches of down travel. The shock valve ends up smacking the bottom of the shock body making a thump noise, from getting maxed out and used as a limit strap.

Look up the over all length of your shocks on the manf. website. Then measure yours sitting normal, then with a jack lifting up that tire. If the shock is at max length, the coil spring is not limiting your shocks from over extending and is causing damage internally to them and giving you that thunk sound.

It is a issue on a tacoma with standard travel shocks, like the Ome Nitro chargers and 883 springs. They are to short to give a working amout of travel. Giving lift but sacrificing down travel.

Ha just caught bobs post Good explanation.

Sure the shock bodys have lots of pre load cause that is used for the springs it isnt going to maxed on the preload if you have high lbs springs. Like i just posted, you should look at overall length of the shock and what you are at now. Your shock could be maxed out of travel with 800lbs springs and minimal pre load.

I was picking up what you were putting down.

@Nimitz your situation is hurting my head and it's not even my problem. It's probably something obvious, and hopefully not getting worse. I know I've got odd sounds at every corner of my truck which I've attributed to the fact that off-road parts make off-road noises. Just turn the music up. Although, I did that and next thing you know I'm replacing the engine in my truck. :anonymous: You probably shouldn't take advice from me. :bananadead:

Turn up the rebound and see if that helps. @Adude is right. The BP51 coilovers are made to add 2" of lift if you are over that then yes you could be topping out all the time.

    Are floor mats a mod?

Not with bp51s does not apply as shock length and max spring length are matched ie you can max out spring / travel up or down and there is still some shock travel left
