    Fellas,

All the Tacos I see driving around here (Canada) have their Amber turn signals as their DRL. Mine on the other hand seem to use the side parking lights in my main headlight housing which are switched via the lighting control arm, (first position DRL/parking lights, second position main headlights).
Is there a way to get my Amber turn signals as my DRL.
    Thanks in advance.

    PS
My truck is a US truck imported into Canada.

You have multiple choices on ways to accomplish this. Here's the factory way.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/05-drl-daytime-running-lights-install-oem.1475/

The problem with this is that it will eventually melt the turn signal lenses. So, if you want to do this and not melt the lenses, then you need LEDs. However, if you just swap in LEDs, and do nothing else, you will get hyperflash. There is no available LED flasher for DRLs. So, then you have 2 choices. Install resistors at the turn signals, or modify the factory DRL flasher.

Or, you can install an aftermarket LED, non DRL flasher, install front switchback LEDs and have white DRLs and amber turn signals. This will require adding a 3rd wire to the turn signal socket plug. If you do this, make sure you get amber/off/amber/off switchbacks and not amber/white/amber/white. No matter what LEDs you choose, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you get CK LEDs for the front turnsignals.

Or, you can just run a wire from your existing park lights to the 3rd wire terminal in the turn signal socket. This will result in a constant dim light in the turn signal location that gets bright when the turn signals are on.

Or do the fog light anytime mod and use them.

Thinking about it I actually don't have any DRL. I have parking/side lights and then low/high beam. I really like the look of the turn signal lights as DRL so I might try the 3rd wire mod from the parking lights as suggested above.
