    Hello all,
I picked up a nice clean 2004 for a song. It is a great truck but I have one problem with it.
It has fog lights in the bumper but no switch inside the cab to turn them on. Is that crazy or what.
Has anyone ran accross this before, and if so, is it just a matter of getting a switch from the dealer? There is a cut out with a plate on it on the bottom left corner of the dash. Is that where the switch would go?
    Thanks all for the help.

actually........the lights in the bumper are the turn signals. the corner lights on the head lights are basically just marker lights.

Will is right. They're turn signals, not fogs. I thought the same thing when I got my truck. I was like "what the hell where is the switch for these." Then I found out that those lights were turn signals.

something im gonna try to do............im gonna try and mod it to where the turn signals are the corner lights, and the bumper lights are fog lights ran thru a 2 pole switch. it may be a while before i try to tackle this, but i think it'd be a cool mod!!:)

Theres something on making the corner lights your turn signals.

I don't know if it would be a good idea to try and use the current turnsignals and make them into fogs, I think it'd be a lot easier to buy rectangular fogs and mod the bumper to make the new ones fit in there.

it should be relatively easy.............i would just have to wire the bumper lights to a switch and install bulbs that would fit but that would work as fogs. im still just thinking about it though...........gotta lotta other stuff im gonna be doing first.

Right, it shouldn't be hard, but you'll have to switch out the connector and if it's bigger than the turn signal connector it will be somewhat hard to cut the reflector correctly.

Yeah, the nice thing about this site is that pretty much everybody is friendly and if you have a simple question people won't say "We've already gone over this in one of the thousands of threads on here, search!" they'll just answer the question.

yeah...i was thinking about that too, and that may mean splicing wires to use the original connectors.......i'll just have to see. when i get my brush guard one of these days, i may not even worry about it.

That is a really good Idea with putting the bar on. I live in the sticks with many a dumb deer around so the purpose would be two fold:
    A) Mount some fogs to that sucker for the crazy foggy days we are having in Washington state right now.
    2) Keep those deer-steins out of my grill:D.
You are right Tacomaman!! Everyone is real plesent here. I did notice that the "free flowing" forum can get pretty crazy though:eek:
